In Evans' and Taylor's case though, one of the knocks on both of them coming out was that you couldn't put too much on their plate and just have to let them play. Taylor was in a highly elementary college scheme, so he's probably behind the other guys in terms of learning/understanding NFL offenses. I'll also say again that listening to Evans/Taylor and watching them, you can tell that they're smart people - so I'm not sure what the disconnect is there when it comes to football. I misjudged your initial post. I just feel like whenever a "dumb player" is discussed it's always a black player. It was so negative, especially regarding Mariota. Personally, the nerve never healing line of discussion does not do much for me. He looked better yesterday, lets see how he looks today and if he starts I'll go from there. I want to see this offense in a full game with Mariota which could well be this Sunday.
