This is one of the primary reasons you should do some research before immediately defending Trump. You mentioned you really didn't follow politics during the Obama years. If true, you miss some of the context that drives today's debates about Trump's behavior.

 

Yes. Without context, keeping track of Trump's golf outings seems petty. But if you knew of Trump going on Fox News, tweeting and complaining about how much Obama played golf, then you see him playing more golf than Obama and at an even higher cost to the tax payers, it should be called out and doesn't need defending.

 

Supporting Trump does not mean having a Pavlov's dog reaction and defending him when his actions are indefensible.
