The only way anyone goes through all their money is if you are a retard like 9s last year or you just want to clinch a guy the final week of the season. If I recall, most of us had hundreds of dollars available.

I traded Lynch for a 1st that I traded again and it became the 4th in this draft. Well worth all the waiver dollars.

That ended up being fine but again, we are in a league with a bunch of idiots... Anything to actually make this league require skill is a positive

So, once you're out of $ you can't pick anyone up even if nobody else wants them / didn't put in a bid?

I'd vote against that.

Why? A lot of FAAB leagues run that way. It's not some weird concept that we are doing just to make some crazy rule, it just requires foresight.

You can trade money in this league, it would actually put some value on the currency if anyone would feel the need to blow their load early.... as of now there is barely anything making FAAB money useful (everyone bids like Jews where we all have hundreds left over)

If nobody else wants a player, it makes no sense to me that you can't roster him.

Except you CAN roster him. Everyone is given $1,000 and you can acquire more. It's not difficult to plan accordingly.

As I said, there are a lot of FAAB leagues that do this and it is a really common thing. You get fucktards like CMJ and 9s going through hundreds of transactions a season (usually for the same player) trying to game the system just picking up a guy literally every single Thursday, Saturday, all 3 Sunday games and Monday and also just happens to fuck the rest of the league over by cycling players into waiver status (which IMO is one of the biggest reasons these idiots do that shit for the same guy over and over). Fuck that.

We have too big of rosters for that bullshit where he isn't making smart calculated moves ahead of everyone. He's just trying to hit the lotto on every single game, why not force someone to buy a lotto ticket.

Ok. But if I have none, I can't.

Then make sure you don't hit zero (or trade a shitty pick for some FAAB cash just for late season mid-week pickups), it's ridiculous how someone who I would like to believe is really intelligent and obsessed with football too wouldn't want to add skill to fantasy

Then don’t have none. It requires you to actually manage a budget.

You should be all for this Mr. Accountant!

Not really even, you still need to manage that same $1,000 you have to already. It just limits the bullshit that people do of constantly picking up guys they don't even want or expect things out of.

If you want to pick up some guy that will help your opponent out simply to block him from a move (which happens all the time) or constantly just cycle lotto tickets into your roster each game it should cost you something.. Not simply just a spot on our massive rosters

PS - I will never want to lessen the size of our rosters so don't take my constantly knocking it as not liking where it's at.

We don’t have a $1,000 budget though and a $1,000 budget would be kind of lame.

Everyone would just end the season with $800 something except Nines would be down to $57.

If you have $ because you managed it... and you know what you're doing and put in a claim... you get the player if you bid $1. That's the advantage of managing a budget.

But if you don't study available players enough to stay on top of who is worth claiming, it's not competition to let you get them anyway.

Ah, yeah that was a different league I am in. $1000 doesn't really make a difference though because people still wager by the %. If you think someone is worth 25% of your budget you just do 250 instead of 25. This way you can do like 254 or 253 and mostly avoid ties.

That being said, the leagues I am in that have a minimum of a $1 FAAB claim (or 5 real life dollars per transaction) also have a little more FAAB money to work with. But any way that elminates free transactions I am down for in this league.

So you are saying that the advantage of managing a budget is getting the guy you want (sounds a little familiar)? It's almost like just putting in constant claims for any schmoe and not doing your homework should put you at some bigger disadvantage than simply waiting for free leftovers.
