Plenty of us said it didn’t matter because backup QBs don’t win games and if Mariota went down then they would generally lose anyway. But no one thought Cassel was a good backup. OILERMAN
Obviously Robinson didn't think they could do better than Cassel last year
Titans279
Obviously JRob made an error.

I was saying we needed someone who can throw the ball and not worry about finding a "mentor" for Mariota, yet we made the playoffs by the skin of our balls and it would have been easier if our backup didnt have the arm of a 8 year old girl. OILERMAN
With Mariora's injury problems they def need to try and get the best possible back-up they can get. An older washed up Cassel type isn't going to cut it.

He wasn't "redundant", he was the first attempt to fix a glaring problem. The redundant solution that was picked up in the draft was the better solution. JRob actually addresses problems. We go from sucking to having a pro bowl teams plater on the roster. Weems has been in the league eleven years playing teams. I imagine he helped some of our guys. But I’m confident you can add Spain as a RFA.

You're probably right but I was just trying to show the imbalance between the offensive and defensive depth chart as of today.
code
Offensive side of the house is depleted. Lots of money to address the obvious needs.

There are plenty of guys on D who won’t be around this season either. Its probably about 16 vs
