Should the Dems even want to impeach Trump?(2018 mid terms)

As of right now according to Nate Silver the Democrats are in good position to win the House, this was before the last week. The Republicans hold a 52-48 lead in the Senate.

Since Trump was elected the elections that have taken place have swung way towards democrats even in heavily Republican areas.

Don't the Dems want Trump in office for the 2018 mid terms? Regardless of whether he actually gets impeached he's totally ruined politically. He's toxic and a huge portion of the people who voted for him would not vote for him again.

I'd guess a lot of Republicans won't even show for mid term voting. Also the public is turning on Republicans for not investigating Trump. I'd also guess voter turnout will be high for the 2018 mid terms.

Leave this man in office!

Why the Republicans aren't trying to get Pence in place and salvage things I have no idea.

The Republicans are stuck in a rock in a hard place.  The Dems definitely want Trump to remain embroiled in controversy but remain in office until the midterms.  Once they have a majority in both houses they will definitely move forward with impeachment articles.

Trump will impeach himself before the year is over.  The government will then have to furnish him security afforded former presidents while he goes around the country holding rallies to tell the real truth of what happened. His crazy base will urge him to run as an independent with David Duke.  This time the wall will be around the entire country and have a platinum door for Muslims, fake news media and cyclops.

Trump is much more dangerous than a normal politician. Sure Pence will help the GOP force through far right politics or he'll try but at least it's just politics. Trump isn't just politics as usual.

Get him out asap.

Because Trump's core supporters would rather the party burn than Trump not be the guy.  There is a significant portion of GOP voters they do not understand and have no idea how to rein in.  Enough to swing every election from sea to shiny sea.

Democrats have problems, but because Republicans have all levels of power, their problems are glossed over.  They've still got problems.

You have to weigh out the advantages of having him impeached early with the chances of him bombing North Korea, alienating us from our allies, poisoning the environment, starting world war three, jeopardizing our national security and taking away millions of people's healthcare and medicaid.  That's a tough one. The Republicans asses are already in a sling.

It doesn't really matter because he won't be impeached. Something like 60% of Republicans still supported Nixon at his time of resignation.

I don't know if you are a Dem or not, but if so, the Right agenda will be pushed through much moreso with Pence than Trump and it will be the worst part of the Right too.

Best case scenario for DNC is Trump goes into 2020 election with Russia still hanging around his neck. Easy defeat, as of right now.

I don't subscribe to the 2 party system, and thus I am not a member of one of the two. My thing with Pence is he would actually act presidential. I cannot stand Trump's tweeting and the way he attacks other other two branches of government through a series of tweets. Yes, it may seem petty on my end, but that is not how  the President of the United States is supposed to act.

I don't like Pence at all. I wish Trump would have picked a more moderate republican as his VP, but that's besides the point. Through Trump's actions, it appears the only country on Earth right now that likes us is Russia.

What is the plan after Trump leaves office either through election, term limit, resignation, or impeachment?  He obviously doesn't appreciate classified information.  Will he be allowed to travel and/or visit foreign nationals with his knowledge?  Will he need a babysitter to prevent him from not being patriotic and America-first?
