'Nator
It may be that Trump and his administration are only guilty of stupidity in their dealings with the Russians which is exactly the same thing Hillary was guilty of with the email horseshit (she wanted to be able to work from home-- that was the crux of it). So if the Russian stuff is a "witch hunt" the email stuff and "BENGHAZI!!!!" was even more so. It's the Republicans who come up with some horseshit investigation to waste our tax dollars on any time a Dem takes office. They started this precedent. It's like they feel like if they keep a constant investigation going long enough, they will find something to nail someone on even if it's far off from where the original investigation started. So the Republicans made their bed with this shit. Their hypocrisy is fucking staggering. Could you imagine if the party roles were reversed? This shit would lead Fox and Breitbart every day for the next 8 years. What an utter disaster of an administration. Anyone with half a fucking brain could see this coming. The laundering stuff may very well be what brings him down. Kinda Capone-esq.
code
Ben, hate to bust your Foxy bubble, but every bit of this has been reported by legitimate news organizations. Your man is a con man and you are wholly vested in his lies.

The Russian oligarchs stole most of the industry in Russia, and are involved in all kinds of organized crime activities. They are some of the richest people in the world but they can not freely spend their money because it could get seized etc. in the banking system. The news Rachel Maddow has reported implies that the scheme to launder their money works through large corrupt banks then goes through a multi-staged process. 1) The corrupt banks lend money for expensive/large real estate deals to corrupt developers/investors, 2) then a while later, the Russians buys the real estate at inflated prices, and 3) then the corrupt developer/investors pays back the bank. The bank gets its money back plus transaction and interest fees plus strengthens its relationship with the Russians, the developer/investor gets a quick profit (laundering fee), and the Russian gets a tangible asset that they can use and/or mortgage/sell to obtain "legitimate" money. Trump might have been doing this for years, which explains all his shady Russian contacts. Also based on his talkative sons, his kids are probably involved. What a stupid, inefficient way to launder money....those red (and one orange) fucks can't even oligarch correctly.

code
They will 'get him' for the cover up, as they did Nixon, not either of the crimes (money laundering or colluding with Russians to impact election).

Agree. The cover up always ends up being worse than the crime.

Even if this was a valid comparison, which it isn't, she isn't president. There's a massive gap between not releasing then and continuing not to now. A candidate releasing his tax return is not a negotiation. It's an expectation for anyone running to be President. Also, does anyone really think Trump wouldn't have weasel out of the deal? They could very easily get him with obstruction of justice if they show that he fired Comey bc of the Russia investigation. That alone is an impeachable offense. He promised the GOP pre convention he would release them. He's the POTUS and he refused to release his 2016. I admit to liking Trump's talk early on. Then Mitt Romney took TV time to plead with the monster the GOP has created not to vote for Trump. The leadership of the GOP tried to stop him. McCain, a good man tried. Paul Ryan refused to endorse until very late in the election. The list could go on and on of high caliber repubs who tried to get the radical base to listen. But Trump threw bloody meat to the monster. "I could shoot somebody......and they will still vote for me." Deepak Chopra in an interview said the only good to come from Trump will be the destruction of the GOP. The GOP was once a great party, but winning elections can be tricky. Chopra's words looked hollow when Trump won the election. Now, Mitt, the leadership of the GOP, McCain, Ryan and many more are riding the Titanic and Ahab is running the ship full ahead through iceberg laden waters in pursuit of money, fame, pussy and to get away from the police. Every day the true GOP statesmen stay silent drives another nail into the party coffin. The true repubs are not this. Maybe there are disagreements about how to guide the country, but they love America. We all love America. Not only is Trump destroying the GOP, he is capable of doing great harm to America. If he left office today, it will take time to deal with the damage he has already done. Everyday they stand up and parrot the childish excuses for Trump's actions pushes the entire party closer to destruction. They go to bed at night, wake up and are handed the party's responses in support of some crazy shit POTUS has done. They didn't know Trump was going to fire Comey. They didn't know he was even thinking about it. Then as they eat dinner, they are handed a note "this is what we are all saying." "Saying about what?" "Oh, POTUS just fired Comey." Sad. A two party system is good for the country.

reo
Here's who you pressure https://politicalwire.com/2017/05/10/rosenstein-threatened-quit-white-house-spin/ Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “threatened to resign after the narrative emerging from the White House on Tuesday evening cast him as a prime mover of the decision to fire Comey and that the president acted only on his recommendation,” the Washington Post reports. With Sessions' recusal for anything Trump/Russia. It's up to Rosenstein to appoint an independent council. Pressure him and he'll cave and do it imo.
