Matt Miller's latest scouting notebook

The way I look at it is there's a ton of good corners, and different types. Man guys like Conley & Wilson. Zone guys like Desmond King & Marlon Humphrey. And all around stud like Lattimore. If we pick a corner in the 1st I'm confident that the FO & staff feels he's a good fit for what they want.

The guy I still think is totally underrated & gets no burn is Tankersly.

The list of 5 underrated names has 2 of my favorites....Mack Hollins & Jayon Brown.

Hollins is a great deep threat...excellent size, speed, and tracking ability. Brown is one of the best coverage LBers to come out in awhile.

Quincy Wilson is grossly underrated.

His feet aren't very good. He plays physical because he has to. He'd be good in Tampa's cover 2 but i wouldn't like him for us.

I don't think Hollins played enough for J Rob to be confident in him

We could get their 1st next year which might be pretty early pick.  Getting an extra 1st next year like we did this year is pretty appealing.  And we can still trade out of our 12 or 18 in that scenario and pick up a 2nd with another team.  18 might be a prime spot for a team wanting to move up for a QB.

I agree with not getting 52 if we get the 1st next year as you suggested. That's great value and I would do that. But Miller was saying 52 and a 2nd next year.

Agreed on Tankersly. Doesn't get talked about enough.

I touted him as my favorite CB not named Jones/Lattimore

axtually have him right with them or slightly behind

i think he is Desmond Trufant like

You're 100% correct but I'm irrationally hoping J-Rob looks the other way and takes him. He's a better Justin Hunter without the coordination issues.

Seems comparable to Humphrey.  At 6'1 ran a 4.40.  Only draw back is his vertical 30".

The biggest knock on him is consistency. He literally has all the tools but I'm not sure he's ready year one. I have however, been surprised by raw CB prospects before, like Xavien Howard last year. Tank is actually VERY similar to him and will go much later.
