OILERMAN
https://www.thestar.com/news/insight/2017/03/26/donald-trump-voters-we-like-the-presidents-lies.html#pq=5Sha2X Two polls this week found that about 60 per cent of Republicans believe the inaccurate wiretapping claim is accurate. And interviews about that claim with 25 of his supporters in Newark and Zanesville, a humble city of 25,000 a half-hour to the east, suggest he might not have irked even the people who think he’s wrong. The challenge for Trump opponents is not merely that many Trump supporters believe his false claims. It is that supporters are willing to explain away the claims they don’t think are fully accurate. OILERMAN
This stuff fascinates me. I really don't think people are defending Trump as much as they are defending themselves. I work with a lot of people who voted for Trump that don't want to talk about politics at all any more. I believe they are embarrassed.

Number9
Our problem is we are stuck with him. The repubs took every dark and deceiving road they saw to gain power. Gerrymandering the country so that the least intelligent populous could swing national elections, then feeding them untruths for years created Trump. America, the country we all love is falling badly in the eyes of the world. We already were in a weakened economic position because of decades of corruption, now this. Bush lied. The Gulf war and we are still paying. Trump had been in office nine weeks, he's still in his first trimester. What kind of monster baby is he going to birth? So far, these are a group of silly lies that are hurtful, but are not devastating. What happens when he tells a Bush lie? If/when the heat gets on him, the big lie is coming. I talked to people like those in that article this week. They are not as supportive of him as it suggests. Trump voters on the real side are upset that he tried to take their Obamacare. He said he was going to replace it with less expensive and more complete care. They felt the reality that he lied and was just going to take what they have. They also are not impressed with his tweets. They see he is not acting like a president. They expected he would come in and show Washington how it's done. He's supposed to have the country working like never seen before. He is a big fail.

ChesterCopperpot1
"Trump voters on the real side are upset that he tried to take their Obamacare." i dont get it: he said he was going to repeal Obamacare throughout the entire campaign. Did they think he was joking?

Did they think he was joking? This is what's interesting. He said he'd deport all the Mexicans, and you still have people saying OMG I thought you meant those other Mexicans not my husband! As a study in human fallibility it's amazing.

We were told to "not take him literally." I'm sorry, when someone in his position says the shit that he does then I am going to take him literally. One of the funniest comments to that article was... The wife voted for Trump because he would improve the economy, instead he personally crashed her family economy. Number9
Ted Koppel to Sean Hannity(sp). You FOX News is bad for America. You have created an audience that believes ideology over facts. Surprising to me, SH seems to be hurt by that statement. Anybody remember when FOX tried to be unbiased toward Trump. He viciously attacked Miss Megan after the debate, then refused to appear on their network. Now, they are licking up whatever he throws out. They tried to show some evenhandedness and were smashed. Instead of standing for even a semblance of truth and fact, they became good do'be's and champion every thing this admin does. The Russians. They are okay now. There is no real enemy, there is only the enemy leaders create. I would not be surprised to see repubs running on a Russian friendly platform in the near future. I believe in God. I believe in love for one another. It is why I criticize Evangelicals so much. They make a mockery of Christ teachings. Look at them now in support of the lies upon lies told by djt. They are for one thing--churches to be exempt from taxation. The church is to receive one tenth of your wealth. The people worked their occupation. No government taxes. The church used their share to run the hospital, care for orphans and help the poor. They were not richer than the people who tithed. Now churches want your tithe to build fancy churches, luxury cars, mansions and more.
