Similar to Scotty, I've been thinking Mariota's not as far along as many here seem to hope. I think you can tell he's still not trusting his eyes with his double clutches and stuff. He doesn't look completely comfortable back there. That makes sense though, we knew there'd be an adjustment for him from college to the NFL. I think they are doing some stuff to make him more comfortable though. We've seen so many roll outs, quick hitters, etc. Though they've not shown it much, I think we're going to see more RPO/read option based plays. I've come around to liking the strategy. They're really trying to make it so that Mariota isn't trying to win us every game with his arm. He's not there yet. Hopefully they can bring him along with a run/defense oriented team, and then switch to a more pass oriented team as he becomes capable of carrying the team that way.
