You're framing everything within your own contrived narrative.

Jamal jumped out and proclaimed the hiring of Mularkey was so bad he was teetering on switching teams.

Well since Robinson and Mularkey have taken control of the organization things appear to be more than OK, They are great. Amy we bow down to your hiring prowess!

Now the offense, which we haven't even seen yet is all wrong for Mariota! Time to start clinging on to anything to support the original doom and gloom narrative!

My concerns about Mariota is simply that he doesn't develop as fast as I hope for the team to become a winner this season. He's still trying to learn to quickly process information at the line and during his drop backs to successfully read defenses and get off accurate throws. This has nothing to do with the scheme he is in, this is basic NFL Quarterbacking development. He's coming from a spread that had designed throws to one target a lot of times.

It appears to me the coaching staff is installing a system that will help Mariota develop but at the same time give the team the best chance for immediate success

Despite that "helpful system," you guys are talking like he's Trevor Siemian. Sure sounds like you're lowering expectations instead of raising them.

If we had another week before the season, you guys would be saying Mariota might have to retire. Then when he guts it out and takes the field, well ... damn! The system saved him!

Please don't tell us this is the planned ahead Oman response, if they don't go 10-6. lol  It was all Mariota's fault!  If they only go 6 - 10, which still beats the Vegas over/under of 5.5 wins,  why do I fear that it will be "I didn't like Mariota's game last night this year!" from the Oman.  "If Mariota had played better, 10- 6 would have been no problem!"  ; )

I find it to be an interesting insulation in support of Mularkey that some are predetermining it's OK if Mariota's development doesn't not continue as previously expected because we're going to run the ball.

Isn't running the ball supposed to aid in his development? This seems to want it both ways.

So basically you are setting yourself up to be able to blame Mularkey if Mariota doesn't end up a Hall of Fame QB. But if he does, well then I'm sure he succeeded regardless of any coaching...

Presumably you also blame Mularkey for the failures of Loseman in Buffalo and Gabbert in Jax.

Solid comparisons. Keep those expectations low!

If Mariota actively disappoints over the course of the season, I'll absolutely blame Mularkey. As everyone should.

Are you expecting a rocky season from Mariota? Fan disappointment?

Before diving into sophistry could you provide a tl;dr; version of the point you want to make?

If you don't think he was overrated and will disappoint, if you don't think it will be or should be rocky - I'm glad we agree.

@Jamalisms Tried reversing the negatives.

Is your point that you expect Mariota to kick ass this season?
