This has nothing to do with the scheme he is in, this is basic NFL Quarterbacking development. He's coming from a spread that had designed throws to one target a lot of times. Sure sounds like you're lowering expectations instead of raising them. If we had another week before the season, you guys would be saying Mariota might have to retire. So basically you are setting yourself up to be able to blame Mularkey if Mariota doesn't end up a Hall of Fame QB. But if he does, well then I'm sure he succeeded regardless of any coaching...
