ChemEngr79
It will be interesting to see if this is the end of the non-fundamentals based euphoria that has driven the market in the past 2 months... abenjami

Public cloud adoption is growing exponentially and it will only continue to grow. Sure you will find businesses every once in awhile who overspent with a hyperscaler and think they should bring their data back on prem but they are outliers at best. Full disclosure I've spent the past 7 years working for cloud service providers who compete directly with aws and azure. We built a world class platform and even layered paas and saas offerings on top of it. You can't compete with the hyperscalers, have to join them instead. Now how does that tie into stocks? Buy Amazon, Microsoft, Google and hold it. You will outperform the market for sure. Well tbh I'm really not supposed to say where I work if I'm going to comment on things online. I'm supposed to tag and disclose where I work if I use an account to comment on IT and I'm restricted to what I say. Sure cloud is growing. It's all growing. Each segment is growing differently though, so perspective means everything, and if I worked for Cloudera they'd probably find stats for our meetings suggesting that the on prem data center is dead in 5 years. oldschool

All good. I wouldn't ask where you work at, I like my own anonymity too much. I'm having a heated discussion via email with some of our infrastructure guys on why hardware no longer matters and am trying to explain why they need to shift their thinking to services/solutions. Embrace PaaS and SaaS instead of IaaS. I used to be like them before seeing the light. if MSPs want to survive they better find a way to add value outside of "here is the network/compute/storage/security platform we built to run your apps on" angle.
