Rams Talking Contract Extension With Jeff Fisher

Fisher is one lucky SOB and always seems to be at the right spot at the right time.

  1. He gets signed by the Bears and plays for one of the greatest defensive minds in NFL history
  2. He's a scrub CB on injured reserve, never plays, but still wins a Super Bowl on one of the greatest defensive teams in history
  3. He's the coach during the Oiler's move and buys himself some additional time
  4. Bud Adams changes his behavior of firing coaches on a whim and Fisher is the beneficiary
  5. He's the coach for the Rams' move and like #3 will get additional years.

He should just play the lottery and buy a team. He buys the team, there's an NFL strike and he wins the Super Bowl during the strike year with scabs. Because no one coaches up mediocre talent like our Jeff Fisher.

Apparently six or seven wins a year is enough to earn a contract extension in Los Angeles.

The Rams will engage in contract extension talks with head coach Jeff Fisher and General Manager Jeff Snead over the next couple months, Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

It was good enough here too

If we had a poll, I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 15-20% of TR posters would not have any issue with him coaching the Titans for 20 years.

Does this mean @IowaOiler lost a bet to @OILERMAN?

No lucky for Iowa Webster won the debate on whether or not to cut CJ the off season I bet they would cut him, which was obv a mistake to keep him. They cut him one year later after stringing him into the off season as long as the could to screw him over.

It just makes Iowa look worse. How many years is Iowa gonna miss by? 6, 7, 8?

What's funnier is when CTF and Face were saying he might get fired I was saying he'd get an extension.

I hear coaching doesn't matter anyway... might as well employ him.

I'm shocked Fisher ever coached again after refusing to play VY

People do remember that he's pulling down 7.5mil a yr, right?  I mean I know,... errrr,... read somewhere that 7.5mil doesn't buy what it used to, but sheeez I'm pretty sure most of his contemporaries on that short list have delivered a bit more.

Also, while I agree consistency is good generally speaking, other than win/loss streakiness can anyone tell me what the Rams have done consistently -- at least well enough to continue to pay their HC top market money?

You're witnessing the final touches of a dynasty with their new rookie QB the final touch

this may actually be true. If so I'll be sure to tell the kids they were lucky enough to be there for a Fisher playoff victory -- sorta like witnessing a full solar eclipse only more rare.

Less then 20

I would think maybe 10-15%. Im not one of the 10 percent!

The bad part about it is that our current head coach is not as good as Fisher!

Coaching is very overrated they take too much criticism when things are bad and too much credit when it's good!

A good QB and GM make all of the difference!

Your argument for losing the CJ bet is that we 'should' have cut him, but you gloat about winning the Fisher wager?

Seems legit.

I know you're being serious on this but sometimes I think you let your love for Fisher cloud your judgement.

I actually said Fisher may fire Kroenke.
