“They all know they’re going to be coached harder than any position there is,” Mularkey said. “First of all, because it needs to improve. There’s no question about that. If there’s a position on this team that could be better, it’s that one.

“We’re going to be in their ear. We’re not going to accept anything that’s not the best from them. If they don’t show that, we’re going to find someone that understands that.”

Another gem in the same article

“This is a balanced offense,” Mularkey said. “We’re going to find as much balance as we can, and we’re going to try to keep people off-balance with personnel groupings.

“Dexter is another threat. As many guys (as) you have that can do something special and make a big play ... Dexter will have a role. It won’t be hard. It will actually be enjoyable to game plan with some of the guys we’re adding on.”

Gasp! You mean we're not throwing it only 10 times per game like everyone around here assumed?

Ppl are retarded.

Marcus will throw 30-35 a game avg.

Probably so but the entire group has been very mediocre.

Douglas was a complete non factor last year.

McBride when he was given his chances he didn't look good. He didn't have a lot of chances but he sure as hell didn't make the most of them.

DGB gave us reason to be excited but his play last year was inconsistent as expected being away from football. I was really hoping he would start off great but now he's nursing a hammy AGAIN. I think he defiently should be getting into better shape if he wants to be that guy!

Hunter and Wright have been huge disappointments and they both are going into a make or break year with The Titans.

Sharpe and Mathews we don't know yet.

So yeah I would say mostly Hunter and Wright but the entire group should take notice.

It is directed at all of them because frankly, they have not produced much. Most of our passing success has been to our tight ends.

I agree 100%.

Hunter and Wright are the obvious primary targets, much more so than anyone else, because they are by far the biggest disappointments. 1st and 2nd round pick guys playing the way they have? DGB has a lot to prove, but he's only heading into his 2nd season. Wright is heading into his 5th season and Hunter into his 4th. If they were on any other team they would have been gone long before now.

As a whole, Titans wide receivers produced the fewest catches and second-fewest receiving yards of any other team in 2015. No individual Titans wide receiver had as many as 40 catches last season.

I would love one of our stat guys to dig deeper into this.  Marcus throws a nice ball and put up good numbers pre injury.  Does some of the lack of production fall on Mett or is it all a receiver problem?  Plus, whiz with all his stuff didn't help.  They have no excuses now with all these old heads running things and having a real run game.  So, we have to see.

Douglas had 72 targets, Green-Beckham 67, and Wright 60. Of the 19 receivers in the league with 60-72 targets last year, only 7 had at least 40 catches. No receiver had that many catches because no receiver was thrown the ball that much. Had he played in more than 10 games (and only 9 snaps in one of those), Wright would have gotten there and we'd be having a different conversation.

But still a necessary one, because Hunter has been awful most of his career, Douglas can't separate from NFL-caliber corners, Wright apparently is confused and troubled by the idea you need to run precise routes instead of streetballing, and Green-Beckham has no idea what he's doing out there.

That's exactly right. Anybody that thinks that he is talking directly to DGB is nuts. The frustration is directed at Wright and Hunter's repeated shortcomings.

Perhaps he hasn't read TR recently but I'm pretty sure I read that we're good at WR.
