But more are coming here. Why do you think that is? BECAUSE THEY CAN WALK OVER THE BORDER TO COME HERE AND PLANE TICKETS ARE MORE THAN A DECADES SALARY IN SOME COUNTRIES. scine09 Posted June 4, 2015 Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 I'm not current on what is biggest but I know way more people that have been getting into basketball the last couple years and a large amount of complaints that baseball is just boring unless you go to a game. Look at the World Series #'s in general. I think basketball is a more appealing sport to the younger generation. But baseball has such a stronghold of the older generation and those people pass it on to their kids, grandkids, etc. Ask yourself this. How many sports in this country, when all of the local teams are doing well, is basketball king? The answer is probably one, and that's Los Angeles. Baseball has Boston, New York, St. Louis, possibly Philadelphia, possibly Chicago. Granted most cities it's football but in the Northeast, which has a huge population, baseball is the king and basketball is nowhere close. I also think baseball is very popular in the south. Who do you think is watched more on TV? The Rays or that new MLS team in Orlando? LOL yeah- you're full of crap. The average attendance for the Preds last year? 20k. In other countries, their greatest athletes play soccer.... as this transistions more and more, and people get to see the CJ's and Megatrons and Lebrons move to soccer, the US will have larger success on the world stage and soccer will grow. And I'm not talking about attendance. What would generate better ratings or more talk? Which team would have a more active message board? Also, NHL arenas only hold 20K. The big difference is the US has to do a better job of building home grown talent and they are definitely doing a better job over the past 2 or three years than ever before. But in the end its all about money. The other leagues have huge popularity gaps between EPL in Europe and MLS in the US. Where we are talking about the MLS breaking into the top 5. The EPL and Bundesliga (I can't spell kat) are hugely more popular than even the NFL here. That creates a huge money gap. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
