I've done multiple auction mocks but this will be my first actual league done by auction. As a note though, every subsequent rookie and free agent draft after this will be a conventional draft. How long do you get to nominate, etc? $200 budget. 30 seconds to nominate (I tried to make it shorter). 20 seconds to bid, but once a player bids the minimum time is re-set to 10 seconds. We could change the budget to $225 which is something I thought about today. What does everyone think? Ultimately all cost is relative to the max budget. abenjami Posted August 21, 2014 Report Share Posted August 21, 2014 All cost is indeed relative to the max budget, but the amount of the budget does matter since there is a minimum of $1 per player. It all depends on the range of bidding you want and how you value $1 players in the grand scheme of things. I'm no auction expert but here's how I see it. Low Budget: Less bids and smaller range of bids. Top talent costs more in comparison to lesser talent due to the higher value of $1. High Budget: More bidding, wider ranges of bids. Cyrus Posted August 21, 2014 Author Report Share Posted August 21, 2014 The maximum budget is now $220 to allow a bit more bidding on late nominated players and keep pre-draft values relatively in-line with standard roster leagues (15 roster spots vs. our 19).
