Guest
I'm going to be the pain in the ass here. I can't do 8/25-9/1 as I'll be in certification boot camp that week. Also I have another draft scheduled for 8/23 @10 am. Lastly I may be able to swing a weeknight draft but it will need to be after 830 edt.
Cyrus
I've set the time for Saturday August 23rd at 6:00PM PST as a placeholder. We'll see how that time works.
abenjami
I'm down for a weeknight starting around 8:30 EDT
abenjami
Cyrus, if you want to do it on a weekend, I would think a Sunday night would work better for more people. A lot of us are going to have other fantasy drafts on Saturdays next month.
Cyrus
I originally set it for Sunday, but wanted to make sure that we weren't keeping the east coasters up too late. Oldschool has his certification boot camp the following day. If they're okay with it later Sunday we can make the change.
wiscotitansfan
So what are we thinking? I would like to know sooner rather than later so I could take off work for it (since the store I work at is open from 7 am - 10 pm and I can work any of those hours) instead of having to switch shifts with people. ctm
Brandin Cooks, WR Saints, is going to be a good one. Take him.
abenjami
I can't wait to see who pays for Locker and how much they end up paying.
Cyrus
The current draft time is set for Saturday at 6PM PDT on August 23rd. So far that date seems to be working.
abenjami
Scoring system and rosters could use some fine tuning IMO. 2 point FG's? How about more flex spots instead of requiring 2 RB's and possibly a third RB? At least make the flex spot to include TE if someone wants to go big. The rules seem to heavily favor RB's. You have to start at least 2 RB's and potentially 3. I'm all for the strategy involved in a dynasty league, having deep rosters, etc. but this still seems pretty tough in a 12 team league with no option to flex in a WR or TE instead of that second RB. QB scoring is a little diluted with only 3 point passing TD's along with -1 for INT. WR/TE scoring is a little diluted with only 0.5 PPR. Kicker scoring is a little diluted with 2 points for short FG's. I also don't see why the existing flex spot should be limited to a third RB or third WR and not a second TE. I'm down for whatever scoring system you decide upon, i'll just adjust my strategy accordingly. Just giving my 2 cents. It seems weird given the current state of the NFL being a passing league. Guest
These rules need to change. I hate RB centric leagues. Passing TDs need to be worth 4 points minimum and we should have 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex (RB,WR,TE), 1K, and 1DEF/ST. I'd be all for allowing QB at FLEX as well. abenjami
I hate leagues where you are allowed to start 2 QB's. I like to keep it realistic as much as possible.

Is it showing differently for others? I'm looking at it right now. To the other points @abenjami: - I don't think 2 flex positions are necessary in a 12 team league. Starting 2 RBs shouldn't be overly difficult. If this was a 16+ team league that would be up for debate. Having .5 PPR makes some versatile running backs in a committee more viable as a RB2. - WR/TE scoring shouldn't be diluted with .5 PPR. I've played several leagues with .5 PPR and it offers a fairly balanced scoring system without shifting player production too drastically (with slot receivers). - 2 pt. FGs for Kickers. I don't see the problem. I've considered removing the position entirely. 2 points only apply to 1-19 yard field goals anyways. Everything else is standard scoring (3-5 points based on distance). - W/R/T Flex. I don't dislike the idea of having 2 TEs and it's something I entertained - but I think the pool of talent for TE is so limited that it could lead to an unfair long-term advantage. It will be a struggle for some team to even find a consistent starter with only one TE allowed. Allowing some teams to start another TE could lead to big-time scarcity for the league. (where one team is having to start the 16th+ best TE). - 2 QB. Allowing a QB to be flexed creates imbalance because QB is far and away the best position to start. Might as well make it a 2 QB league which I don't want to do. Overall, I think the .5 PPR alleviates the discrepancy between RB and WR. It also makes part-time backs more viable (as a flex) which I believe is a good thing. Keep in mind that return yards do reward fantasy points which should also create some viability for part-time backs and some receivers. This should help create less of a focus on the top running backs as other players/positions will get a boost. Lastly - this is a dynasty league. Look at the volatility of scoring for running backs every year. Even if it's argued that RBs are favored, teams are keeping the same player each year and they may not consistently produce as expected. Managers will need to manage their players more closely from week to week. There will be a bit more risk/reward with running backs.
