The team's official website on Friday called Fitzpatrick the "odds-on favorite" to win the job, while first-year coach Bill O'Brien sees the upside to housing a battle-tested veteran: We really liked his intelligence," O'Brien said Friday, per ESPN.com We felt like what was best for the Houston Texans was to find a good fit at quarterback for our system." Fitzpatrick's finest work might come under O'Brien, according to NFL Films guru Greg Cosell. "It wouldn't surprise me if Fitzpatrick has his best year in the NFL.I think he could have his best year as a starter under Bill O'Brien."
Guest
Big difference between I think he could have his best year yet and saying Fitzpatrick is set to have his best season.
prometheus
Ha, now let me see: Ryan F. has his best season ever with major wins over the Titans, CJ has his best game ever at LP, and Britt turns into Megatron 2. Castoffs rule on Castaway island. All three will never happen, but at least one could come real. In any case, good riddance. pro

IowaOiler
You forgot the board story line from three years ago that Fisher will be successful where ever he goes. All but a few have bailed off that train.
ctm
All but a few have bailed off that train. It's year 3, that was the supposed standard to judge Munchak by. Now its Jeffs turn.
IowaOiler
It's year 3, that was the supposed standard to judge Munchak by. Now its Jeffs turn. It won't be. You're talking about the king of excuses, and his minions. They will be throwing Bradford and Snead under the bus, then bringing up their tough division, and finally....will blame Vince Young. kyle021
I'd think we'd be in real danger if Munch was the HC according to his W-L record against divisional opponents Can anyone dig up Whizenhunts W-L record against divisional foes in his tenure in AZ? And Munchak will take over this season as the Steelers head coach and will lead them to a Super Bowl victory.
SuperFreak90
Shitzpatrick is garbage.
Face
Fitz had a bunch of good games last year for us. Also, the more I read about Wiz's offense with all the 3-4 WR sets & shorter/intermediate passes the more I think Fitz would have been a great fit had Locker not panned out or gotten injured this year. scine09
It wouldn't stun me at all if Fitzpatrick has a big year. The talent on offense is there.
MIKE75
I'd think we'd be in real danger if Munch was the HC according to his W-L record against divisional opponents Can anyone dig up Whizenhunts W-L record against divisional foes in his tenure in AZ? From 2007 until 2011 Whisenhunt was 18-12 against his division. The only bad season he had against division was his last year when he went 1-5 in 2012. Overall from 2007-2012 he was 19-17 against his division which of course is way better than Munchak at 6-12. from 2011-2013.
Tim
He's has talent and no intangibles. The Texans will win no more than 6 games if he is their long term starter. The guy is a loser and his style of play gets you beat most of the time. I'm overjoyed that he's in our division.
OzTitan
He's a bit like Schaub in that he can rack up the stats, but beyond that he is mostly a liability. Might be enough for the playoffs though.
