Cyrus
Landry's drop rate was about 2.5%, so what ever that "number" was, it was small, like 2. And I'll be honest though some here might not believe it: Beckham and Landry might be a better combo than Wright and Hunter, especially as Hunter is still way more potential than production (tough to judge his past couple years post-injury and NFL transition). And you could make the argument that knowing how good Landry's hands were, that was the best and safest place to put the ball. I guess it depends on how drops are measured, but I've watched about 8 games of the LSU passing offense and I could swear that Landry dropped the ball quite a few times. He dropped a few passes at the Pro Day too which I thought was consistent with the games. I haven't charted anything though - maybe I'm just watching the same game too many times. MIKE75
Mike LOL, I started to actually love his QB threads. I found myself hoping we took a QB moreso for Mike than the rest of the fanbase, I didn't want to see all his hardwork be in vain. The main thing i'm excited about is finally get a solid pocket passing QB instead of this athletic QB's who try to make plays with their legs instead of their arms. We've wasted almost a decade on Vince Young and Jake Locker and both had trouble with accuracy and staying healthy.
scine09
As I said... the buzz would be here regardless. The argument would be the same regardless.

Jamalisms
Mettenberger is not just a late round steal alternative to a QB people have given up on... or even a late round steal who looks to be a pocket passer, something the QB we've given up on is not. He is a late round steal with numerous potentially non-impactful flags that dropped his value and allow people the luxury to imagine he is much, much more than a late round steal who can play from the pocket unlike Jake. Titans valued him as a 4th rounder, so there is your steal... but they did that despite that he had a recent ACL injury (that will heal), an ongoing back concern (that the Titans cleared), a failed drug test before the draft (that is explained by his injury, allegedly), and a major character concern (that's pretty far in his past and hasn't resurfaced). Without those flags, all of which have explanations and excuses if you want to dream big, who knows how high they'd have valued him? Maybe in the second, maybe in the first round? DID WE GET A FIRST ROUND GUY IN THE SIXTH!? If you want to dream about a new QB and a gem in the 6th, Mettenberger is uniquely the perfect guy to hype up. Omar
I hope Mettenberger turns out to be the QB we all want him to be, I still have not given up on Locker yet. He still gets one more chance...

chef
LOL Mettenberger has brought 9s to life! He is pretty excited. I hear he's already starting to Photoshop Mett in a Santa costume for his Xmas cards to send out to all co-workers' kids this year.
Stranger
Regardless of who our starting QB will be at the beginning, middle, or end of this upcoming season, I'm just glad we took a guy that could be a legit QB, over the prospects that are coming out next year. If Locker works out, fantastic, if he doesn't, Mettenberger will have his opportunity to convince the FO & Whiz that we don't need to draft a new QB early next year. You can envision Mett as a starter in the NFL, and again referencing my Hope theme for the day, that's all you need when you've been as mediocre as we have. Just hope it's not a desert oasis. I'd rather Hope that Locker surprises us all. Or most of us excluding Reo.
