Ryan Fitzpatrick Will Be Serviceable for Tennessee Titans with Jake Locker Out

Recommended Posts

What do you expect from a Harvard grad who went in the 7th round he's made a great career for himself I'm sure he's happy with it the one thing I do like about Fitzpatrick is his never give up attitude. He didn't play very good Sunday but neither did most guys on offense either hope it was just some rust and he gets more comfortable in the next game.

You can easily argue that the whole offense was terrible because of him... Game managers always have great run Os and defenses that limit points. Our run O seems to have the potential to be good if we can open the field up with the passing game, not the opposite. We won't win at all this year with a game manager (whether you believe Fitz can be that or not), the rest of the team simply is not good enough to win games without at times great QB play.

He got them back into the game but he didn't manage it fine. He giveth and and he taketh away

One of Fitzpatrick's greatest weaknesses is that he has area code accuracy. He lacks ball placement on passes and while he can throw it in the general vicinity of the receiver, the ball is high, low,

Every game we won this year outside of the jest was a game management situation..

Yes and No... Jake made a couple plays each game that I don't think Fitz is capable of. In those 4 games he did enough (not a lot but enough) to make the team better. I don't think Fitz has that capability.

In my mind, a game manager is someone who simply doesn't lose the game. Jake made plays to win each game we won.

there were several things that caused a loss last Sunday.  Some of it was on Fitz, some on play calls by the coaches, some on the players.  We win as a team and we lose as a team.  He will be better this week.  I suspect all of them will be better this week.  They will have to be, otherwise, we are going to be mighty embarrassed.

Yea he caused Kenny to drop passes or the online to miss blocks or cj to miss reads in the run game Fitzpatrick played a part in the loss but the whole offense was terrible if you say otherwise you must have not watched the same game I watched. The team has to pick it up on offense the defense makes stops but it won't be long till that defense wears down and teams take advantage of it. We won't win shootouts against anyone locker or no locker.

He threw for over 300 yards in every one of his last 4 games vs. the Pats and he lost all but one.

In those 4 games he had 10 td's and 11 int's.

I wanted to debate this back in March when they signed him, but NOPE. Most believed this was a great signing. Younger and cheaper version of Hasselbeck. Then he started throwing INT's when the game was on the line and NOW it's an issue...smh.

How do you define game manager, out of curiosity? This is pretty akin to the definition in my book.

Won't lose the game if not asked to win it... and isn't up to the task when asked.

Someone who fails at the former isn't even a game manager. Someone who does differently with the latter is viewed as above the insult of the terminology.

There is also this:

This is pretty much where I am with him - which may be some type of miracle

We haven't had a 300 yard passer this season.

Locker threw for 299 against SD and should have had more if not for the drops. He would have gotten close against NYJ as well.

Hopefully the 300 yard game will come when he returns.
