So is everyone still ready to trade/dump Nate Washington?

With a strong performance today (8 catches, 131 yds), Nate Washington currently leads the team in receiving yards (227 yards) and is tied with Kendall Wright with a team-high 15 receptions.

No, he's not a Pro Bowler or an all-world WR.   He doesn't have the greatest hands, and he's has his share of mistakes and drops.

But over the past 5 years, Washington has been the most consistently productive WR on the roster, and he has done so by a fairly wide margin year after year.

Could the Titans find an upgrade over Washington?   Sure....it could happen.   Lord knows the team has tried.

But a funny thing about that:  every year they keep finding bigger, faster, and younger guys to challenge for playing time...and none of them has managed unseat Washington or match his production.

It's one thing to say you want an upgrade a certain position;   finding someone who can actually do it is another matter entirely.

No but I'm still ready to trade/dump Kenny Britt, they seriously need to bench the weak link of the offense. Start Wright now, he can't possibly be any worse than Britt has been.

That sounds nice but its not really possible for Wright to replace Britt. If Britt is replaced it has to be Hunter or Preston. For Wright to start he has to supplant Washington.

Hunter and Washington would replace Britt rotationally I believe... Wright taking over for Washington?

Just a guess...

Doesn't Williams play the X,Y, and Z?

Washington has a critical intangible: he has chemistry with Locker. In fact, he's probably the only player with chemistry with Jake. The more he plays the more obvious it is that the Titans can't afford to take Nate off the field regardless of his shortcomings.

Wright seems to as well

If we got rid of Nate Washington, then Kenny Britt could get more playing time. :D

This.

Wright is coming on, but when it comes to 3rd down Locker feels confident pulling the trigger to Washington.

And this.

The chemistry is already there with Locker and Washington.   They've got their timing down quite well, and you can just tell they're on the same page.  They're making the same reads, and each seems to understand what the other is going to do well before it actually happens.

Kendall hasn't quite reached that same level of chemistry with Jake, but he's getting there.   You can see that QB/WR chemistry steadily developing week by week, and I would think that non-verbal communication will only grow stronger as the season progresses.

I also think we'll see Delanie Walker on that same page sooner rather than later.  They seem to  be on the same page in terms of reading the coverage and knowing where the ball is going...they just have to work out the timing.   Jake has narrowly missed on a few big throws to Walker;   I suspect this can probably be attributed to the lack of reps in camp and preseason, when Walker was sidelined.   Assuming DW stays healthy enough to practice through the week, I would expect to see Jake finding him more and more frequently on gamedays.
