Back when I was growing up in politics... The Democratic party was the only game in town. Even the conservative Democrats like Richard Shelby made friends with Black voters because they were a key constituency of Democratic primary elections. White conservatives and moderate/liberal Black voters often made concessions. That all ended after 2008, and Republicans took the State House for the first time since Reconstruction in the 2010 GOP wave election. Nowadays... you have to search far and wide for an open White Democratic voter in Alabama. There are 2 White Democrats in the State Legislature... House and Senate. I personally believe that there's some Top Secret directive that prevents or deters any law enforcement authority from prosecuting a living president or former president. I don't have ANY proof of this and I could be totally wrong... but every action by every law enforcement authority indicates a lack of willingness to indict this guy. There's ALWAYS some barrier in the way. Also... who was the last president indicted and convicted of anything??
