Face
Right away I can see Lewan being good and maybe even elite. Notice how Morgan is one of our best players and people want to dump him. If we have a QB for 16 games I think Wright is in the good category. Teams won't win many game in this league with the #2 and #3 CBs being "bad". Webster should get some kind of award for over paying and over drafting average talent. I think Morgan is one of these guys who you realize how good he is once the defense gets good. He's not a star, but he's as solid & reliable as it gets, and he's versatile. He can cover as a SOLB & stuff the run as a 4-3 LE. In this age of versatility on defense, that's important. I'm telling you, I bet if we let him hit the market Belichick signs him. He has his 2 OLB's but he'd make it work. I think he's a Belichick type player, smart, reliable, versatile, and plays his ass off.
wtenn
Alterraun Verner graded out as elite, so that's wonderful news!
Number9
I think BWW is going to be at least average. Justin Hunter bad. That's bad.
Guest
I'm glad we don;t talk about trading Casey for the second overall pick like last year. Because we already have it. That was one of the dumbest Homer conversations of all time here and that is saying something. Believing someone out there was willing to trade the #2 overall pick for Casey is somecrazy assed shit I will tell you. I think Soxcat was all over that one to no one's surprise. ctm
Griffin, Sensabaugh and BW-W all graded out as bad. The secondary needs a major overhaul. Posters focus on the front 7 and the team has said they need to work on the secondary. There may be a disconnect between the board and the front office on team needs. cenj
Notice how Morgan is one of our best players and people want to dump him. I (and I think most others arguing about Morgan) are not pushing to "dump" Morgan, as if he is some terrible player. The conversation is entirely about $$$ and what makes the most sense for the team going forward. Morgan being paid like an average to good, non-pas rush specialist LOLB? Great, make it happen. Morgan being paid like he is a borderline elite, pass-rushing 3-4 OLB? No way. Levitre and Sankey were in the good category, while Griffin is in the bad. This list also puts McCourty in the same category as D. Hagan and Woodyard. This is a very loose grouping of players. I'd also put Casey and Walker firmly in "elite" -- the only reason they are not there is because the team they are on.

The secondary played terribly, but I'd argue that when an entire starting secondary grades out as "bad," there's more involved than just pure talent level. Griffin is bi-polar and jumps from great to terrible depending on the defense around him, and Sensabaugh looked great as the #3 last year.
Number9
I think they need to retain Morgan if possible. They should be able to negotiate a deal where he's paid top market value he could get elsewhere. If not, they end up overpaying some other player who's not that good. They know Morgan and what he will bring. Plus, Morgan is still developing at the position. He will be worth more than they pay in a year or two. The secondary is bad, but this is even more reason they should take Williams.

The article nailed it. This is a team full of average players.
jtworsley
When it comes to getting to the SB, yes. He's been there three times, more than every other active QB besides Tom Brady and as many as Ben Roethlisberger. I expect better from you
IsntLifeFunny
It's funny to me how many of you are trying to come up with reasons to elevate 'average' players to 'good'. The article nailed it. This is a team full of average players.Judging by our record we're full of terrible players. These articles are stupid and without any relevance, except to people who want a team full of elite players. People want to sign Morgan because he is one of the only decent players on the roster. If you want to find an upgrade then it will be done in the draft, not FA, as will the majority of the roster.
