i think even if he plays badly this year, he'll be back in 2014.. he has the excuse of having no elite receiver.. hope he turns out well he's a good kid

Can this 'good kid' go to New England, Pittsburgh, Denver or Cinny and win a playoff game? I don't think so. Hope I'm wrong, truly I hope I am.

I bet no one on this board would ever eat crow if Locker has a career year.

If he was to have a Pro Bowl year, and the Titans make the playoffs, would anyone on here admit that they were wrong about him ?

I seriously doubt it. Just a observation. People on here act like they want him to fail.

His success is based on what the Titans do, and how well he leads the team.

Maybe he will bust out, or maybe he becomes a pro bowl caliber QB, atleast he gets a chance to prove it this year.

Only 11 games, and people are ready to quit on him. I say give him a chance and see what happens.

If they blow it next year then they all get fired anyways.

Sadly, there's only a few people I've spoken to that truly expect a pro-bowl caliber player from Jake. Most respect his work ethic and hope for the best, feeling that it's still too early to tell but that first impressions in a bad situation left something to be desired.

Similarly there's really only a few who have said they think he's a bust and will fail... and there's only a few not really willing to admit how concerning 2012 was when compared to a mediocre vet like Hasselbeck.

Jake doesn't need to lead this team to the playoffs to survive. He needs to not look lost, get some production, improve, and convince the staff he still has potential. There's a wide range of play that would hit that threshold to one degree or another.

(on what he has to say to naysayers)

"For me, those opinions, they don’t really matter to me.  I’m not playing for those people.  I love it here in Nashville.  I’m doing everything I can to be the best player I can be for the Tennessee Titans, and I’ll continue to do that as long as I’m here.  I’m not going to stick up for myself.  I’m going to work as hard as I can this offseason and do everything I can to be the best player and teammate I can.  Hopefully you’ll see the results on the field this next fall."
