This made me bring out an old Madden and you know an underrated Titan I'd like to have: Lorenzo f***ing Neal. That guy was a beast. Bring him back.

Moulds - 67 catches for 1368 yards and 9 TDs

Thigpen - 79 catches for 1398 yards and 7 TDs

Mason - 95 catches for 1303 yards and 8 TDs

Thigpen had only two great years due to injuries. Moulds also had a season with 100 catches and 10 TDs. In my opinion Mason was slightly below those two as a WR at their very best, but added extra value as a return man.

Those stats reinforce why I would still rather have Mason.

Mason had 8 1000 yard seasons. Moulds 4. Thigpen 2.

Much longer "prime" and did so without a Peerless Price to help out.

I think it's a given -- considering the fantasy nature of the question anyway -- that Titans players in their prime does not equal players who were briefly on our roster and whose prime was for another team (or during the Oilers days).

Given that,

#1 is McNair -- no debate.

#2 is AH

#3 is Kearse

You could argue that Haynesworth's baggage and locker room presence makes him not worth it, but this is a fantasy argument -- in his prime, he was the most dominant DT in a decade. He made 3/4 DBs get into the probowl, and without him both Schwartz and the Titans defense became absolutely awful. He was that dominant.

Kearse as a pure pass rusher with his early career explosion (before injuries) at RE, with Morgan as the LE and AH in the middle? Holy bejesus, QBs would be @&#%@*$ their pants every play.

Shit, look at Foster after the touches he's had in just a few seasons. He's slipping... still good, but wear noticeable.

Except the workload is higher and his running style is more physical, but valid point. CJ hasn't physically dropped off in dramatic fashion, so you were wrong anyway.

How is the workload higher? CJ had a 400 touch year when he cracked 2,000 yards. Their number of touches through their first 3 seasons as the starter are very close in number.

CJ had 1,052 touches in three years before his contract. Arian has had 1,115 in the past three years. A bit more than 20 touches extra per season... you could call it close, I wouldn't but that's getting into hair splitting. Either way it's more and more physical.

Foster had 391 touches in the regular season this year... already 40 more in the first playoff game.

Yuck to that, but he did look good today.

Guys who play all 4 quarters tend to get more touches than guys who puss out before halftime.

I know that McNair, Haynesworth and Kearse are obvious, but I think Michael Roos and Brad Hopkins have to at least be considered. Left tackle is one of the most important positions on the field and without one you'll have a difficult time winning consistently. Both guys were very good in their primes.

You could have a nice defensive line by choosing one of the two and keeping the LT instead.

Granted the 3 best guys were clearly McNair, Haynesworth and Kearse in their primes.
