Manning regularly calls his own plays. iirc sometimes 2-3 in the huddle and then makes adjustments at the line as well based on what he sees.

the OC probably has input on the game plan and maybe in the initial play calling but Manning is the one that really decides which one is going to be run when the time comes.

Good move by Munch...Loggains seems to have a bright future, but it is very nice to have a good, experienced resource in Moore.

Any new coordinator is going to have growing pains, I would rather have them work out the kinks in the last five games and not at the beginning of next season.

I remember reading about this a few years ago. Basically Moore installed concepts and would provide council to Manning during the games. Manning did everything else.

Not sure if I'm not remembering correctly or not buying seems to me I heard on a broadcast a few years back that Moore would pick 3 plays for each down and then leave it to manning to decide which one to run at the LOS. No clue how accurate that is! Just what I had always remembered.

Sounds kinda like what they're asking him to do for Loggains now in a round-about way. Maybe not the installation of concepts, but more a soundboard for the concepts that are already installed.

I like the move a lot. I get some of the skeptical responses, but if Loggains actually needed "training wheels" he likely wouldn't be the OC right now, Palmer still would.

We were too busy still celebrating the success of our last show.

Yep, that's what happens when you're resting on your laurels.
