I think gray is right on. You can't play timid in football of any kind. There's a lot of difference between intimidation and playing dirty. Where is Finnegan when the team needs him. He sure looked good last night vs the Cards.

Kuharsky took those quotes from Wyatt's article - http://www.tennessean.com/article/20121005/SPORTS01/310050126/Titans-coordinator-says-tougher-play-key-derailing-passing-game?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CSports%20Tennessee%20Titans&nclick_check=1

There is one more that he left out --

“I don’t coach a defense like this, and I don’t think they intend to play a defense like that,” Gray said. “But when it happens, what do you do to fix it? And that is our job. We have 12 weeks to fix it.”

Sounds like Gray is feeling the heat and blaming the players to me.

His comments aren't remotely anything similar to Gregg Williams... We need to blow someone up isn't even in the same ballpark as "He becomes human when we f----n take out that outside ACL" or talking about Hitting Frank Gore's head (even though I'm pretty sure that was a metaphor).

He said we have a shitty defense that plays like bitches, we can't expect to do anything on D if we aren't physical.

When I see griffin play now it really drives home how some guys go backwards when you don;t hit in practice.

He used to be a form tackler. Remember when he was on special teams? He was a great tackler.

Teams don;t want to hit in practice anymore and you just see Griffin out there with no technique trying to grab onto Andre Johnson;s shoulder pad as he's coming through the middle with the ball and it's become a joke.

They need to put the pads on and they need to hit some guys. At least some of the individuals on that defense do.
