Had to break up a fight in front of what I think was a low income housing apartment one block east of Crypto Arena.  Hispanic and Black dude got into it.  Reminded me of high school the type of racist shit that came out of their mouths LOL.  Freaking security guard came after the Latino took off.  Me and my Saudi buddy had to separate them.  Funny how they become more emboldened, colorful, and passionate when they knew we were there to keep them separated.  I was just hoping neither of them had a weapon.  

It is funny to me how you equate bigotry with racism. Two people yelling at each other is bigotry. A white man in a position of power making racist statements while overseeing federal spending is racist. I hope this clears up the distinction.

So wait!  Let me get this straight.  Just because us colored common folk say stupid racist shit, we are merely considered generalized bigots and when a sophisticated white man says it, he's identified specifically as racist?  The fucc? 

Why not give us colored folk the ability to identify more specifically as well, man?  It just doesn't seem fair...

There is too much hate around politics. Extremists on both sides need to be denounced and eradicated.  I truly believe social media and people only consuming information (most of it with only a grain of truth and then extrapolated into so dumb fucking one sided crap) is ruining the current climate.

 

This political forum is a perfect example. I would bet that most posters here (except maybe 3 or 4 ) are good decent people. In a face to face they wouldn't say 85% of the shit they say here. 

 

Until the "I am right without exception and my political side does no wrong" attitude stops then there is no conversation to be had. 

 

While e have had some nasty words here, I believe you are an honest broker. Do I view the world the same as you? No, be we grew up during different times under different circumstances.

Bigotry is a biased action or thought towards another because of their skin color. Racism is a structural power dynamic.

But to be serious for once, if your stories are true (there's no reason to doubt it is), I can try to feel your plight.  But that hasn't been my experience at all.  Aside from the occasional white Karen whom I'm assuming acts like that to all people, most white people have been quite polite and kind to me.

 

The most racism I've faced from the white man is through fictional characters in Hollywood and oddly enough from people on this forum who claim to be champions for the minority.  I'm sure most of you would be more civil toward me if associated myself with the proper party but I guess I will continue to be a social pariah on this forum. Woe is me...

The kind words are appreciated but I see value here. I think that between the insults and jeering we actually are able to have some interesting conversations that people don't usually have. That's why my first instinct is always to engage much to the frustration of people on my political side of the aisle. My take is that we're pretty fucked until some source emerges that people from both sides trust. Right now the left, right, and even the factions within them both are living in their own little pockets or reality, with their own facts. People like Fuentes thrive in that environment. We're entering very dangerous times and I really don't think that retreating into our corners is going to help. I share your opinion that the internet and social media are like pouring rocket fuel on an open flame. I used to tell people in my personal life that "the internet is not the real world" and while I do believe that, shit is starting to bleed over to an alarming degree. Many on the left are celebrating the civil war on the right, and I won't pretend that I don't enjoy watching people that I think are a huge part of the problem tear each other part, but in the big picture it's very concerning. We're on a very dark path.
