No, I'm not saying he's the GOAT. Last year he and I got into it over whether he was better than Judge. I don't think he was when he was purely a DH since Judge is so good in the field and had a higher WAR. But when he's striking out ten guys in a game and hitting three home runs? If you didn’t watch it you wouldn’t know how many pitches he didn’t get to hit. The guy even got intentionally walked with the bases loaded once! Only difference Bonds was a 9 inning regular season game whereas Ohtani's was an 18 inning World Series game. That’s my favorite part. He’d get like one hittable pitch and blast it 400 ft. He also did this in a pitcher’s ballpark too in SF. Ohtani isn’t a pimple on Bonds ass in terms of overall player. Bonds could steal bases as well. He had a 30hr 50 SB season in 90 as well. And multiple gold gloves. In his last year in the league 2007 and at age 42 he lead the league in walks (132 ) and OBP at .480 Bonds has 688 career intentional walks . Second place is Albert Pujols at 316. The guy with the most intentional walks who is still currently playing is Freddie Freeman, who is 36 yrs old, and he has a paltry total of 142. He really doesn't get enough credit. The thing is, he absolutely has a legacy blocker in his way. He could hit 100 HRs in a season and it won't matter unless he wins one as a Yankee. Winning a series as a Yankee would absolutely boost his legacy--I am just not sure it happens with Yankee killer Hal on board. I like Judge enough I sort of found myself wanting him to get one.
