In each situation, the federal government decided that allowing the corporation to fail posed a significant risk to the US economy.....so the government bailed them out. Whereas Trump is looking at extremely successful, wildly profitable corporations and demanding a piece of the action: he sees them making money hand over fist....and he wants in, promising favorable policy and/or preferential treatmen@t in exchange for ownership shares. There's a very valid argument that the government has no business propping up and bailing out failing corporate entities. But that's not what Trump is doing. His approach is basically mob boss profiteering....equal ports extortion, corruption, and protection racket. And of course, the entities he targets are raking in so much GD money.....rather than resisting or arguing with him , they find it's cheaper and easier to just give in and pay him off....and keep that gravy train rollin'. Fox news and @Little Earl don't do nuance and messy details.

But I actually understand and appreciate the sentiment, even though coherent, cogent thoughts, statements, and intentions escape your actual written message. Yes, talking to people is objectively better than online messaging, even with the social and other risks that it can assume. Younger generations, to various degrees, have forgotten the potency of a good faith conversation without a camera involved. Strunk'sDessert
