pat
I got a Maverick Hybrid. It's not what you are looking for, but it's almost the perfect car for myself. Cheap to run and maintain. Apparently the hybrid power chain actually saves on maintenance b/c the engine runs less. Plenty of cab and cargo space. Let your adult kids get their own cars and drive something sensible. Unless this is about being the designated driver for poker night, in which case go with your original plan.

Strunk'sDessert
It's not massive, but I'll never buy anything besides a 4runner. For that matter, you only have to it one in your life. The damn thing will outrun cockroaches.

Anyone have opinions on the best ones Might not be anywhere near what you're looking for but just got a '23 X7. Got fam of 7 with 5 kiddos from 9-14 and didn't have the room past few years, just waited as car prices so so horrible. I know dealer here and they had less than year old one used as loaner, ~ 4,000 miles on it, ended up nearly $10k++ off original. I know I know what people think on those, but still have my X5, a 2016 with 90K and other than normal maintenance have had virtually nothing at all go wrong. My Dad has a 2015 X5 - lower miles and way more babied than mine. His just recently had fairly significant repair, and he was ticked off. I said that thing been on the road nearly 10 years, what else has gone wrong? Nothing he said. That model/those years at least been great. Hope the X7 can half as well. Dumped the girlfriend's fairly new Subaru Crosstrek. Was a complete POS, so many issues on a car barely 4 years old. Those supposed to be reliable, but no sure things. Even Toyota and Honda not what they used to be. And Nissan?? Forget that.
