LOL another career UFO head talking complete nonsense.

I'll come back in 2027 just before this big reveal!!

The real worry is how many idiots/liars/gullible people the US seem to have or have had in prominent positions

This is what you're dealing with in Ramirez

I don't care who he is or his information. If he was CIA then he's has a TS clearance far above the rest of us. Like I said in the post it isn't about his information, it's about the steady leak of people with high level clearances coming forward.

Why now?

I am 100% sure there are highly intelligent and civilised beings somewhere in the universe.     I am also 99.999% sure these guys who say there are aliens cutting about on earth are hil

This one still makes me laugh

People hate to have common sense get in the way of a wanted-to-be-held belief.

Why now?

Probably a few factors

- A few of these guys are making a career of "UAPs", its in their interest to play it up

- The hearing fiasco is probably somewhat influenced by the "deep state" narrative, a good distraction

- Some idiots are lapping it up as they have always done, it drives clicks and gives people 15 minutes of fame. Maybe they turn it into speaking tours etc

The bottom line is pretty much all of these high level clearance people are easily seen to be lying or gullible idiots.

Do you believe him that he fought a reptile outside his bedroom?

I've changed my tune on the testimony given and provided it with a massive grain of salt.

But you and many others are being massive ass hats on this.

It's also fine to say, "Fuck if I know" while not believing a TikTok account.

I genuinely don't mean to be, I just find it all so preposterous when you actually hear what's coming out of their mouth and how people interpret that

Trust me I would love if there was some definitive proof that these things existed but I think it's ludicrous to think that they are here now

Of course this is a topic worth serious and reasonable inquiry. That doesn't mean we are seeing this right now, and of course we live in an age where there is more bad information than ever before, more empowerment to share narratives, exaggerate, and lose the significance (or lack thereof) of these types of things.

The only thing I want to address here is the eyewitness testimony. There is no more fallible piece of evidence out there--even the most intelligent, trained, people are unreliable witnesses. Lots of studies done on this.

In an age where there are more cameras and videos than ever before, the lack of reliable evidence of any of this is pretty telling.

Good job

I'm trying to bring this thing to TR where people can admit they don't have expert analysis on every goddamned topic haha

*does not apply to those that just outright expose themselves as insufferable dipshits

No.

The pilots are above reproach in my opinion when it comes to some agenda. That doesn't mean they're correct.

I didn't believe this guy's story when I found it and that wasn't the reason for posting. The reason for discussion is about the why. Why is this coming out now? Maybe it is just about money in terms of the floodgates seemingly being opened.

Pilots are just people. It’s like the Secret Service agents who backed Trump around the insurrection. They are not above reproach.

Could they have seen something they can’t explain? Sure. I have no doubt that happens. But I’m not going to just to conclusions without some real, concrete evidence.

I mean they aren't doing this for fame, not that they can't be wrong.

Don't disagree with a single thing you wrote, but eyewitnesses fall on both sides of the bell curve - some of the worst and some of the best evidence.

If you're relying on witness testimony about a crack den or yokals seeing some religious signs in snake handling, it's far to the left on the curve of BS. If you're talking about career professionals over several decades, does that not fit to several SD's to the right?

It really doesn't, especially given the context of the situation. A career professional is a reliable witness in the context of observation of reliable work. These incidents are by nature observation of something you haven't seen before--often in a high speed, high stress, situation. In moments like this, things like confirmation bias, etc. come into play.

I haven't been following this (as I really don't care that much), but where someone like this *may* be reliable is sharing information about process "the government has a lot of these files they don't release", but not reasoning "government cover up".

Personally, I get why they wouldn't just throw all this information out there into the void--that doesn't necessarily mean cover up.

And at the end of the day, of course there should be reliable mechanisms for reporting things like this without fear of reprisal or becoming a laughing stock--because we want pilots and military to be observant and communicate--gathering info is important. I also don't assume these people are lying, attention seeking grifters--while a possibility, more likely just misguided.

Might as well add this to the crazy aliens debate…

https://www.npr.org/2023/09/13/1199251336/mexico-alien-corpses-congress

Mexico's Congress heard testimony from experts who study extraterrestrials on Tuesday.

And the hearing started with a huge surprise.

Jaime Maussan, a self-described ufologist, brought two caskets into the congressional chambers. As Maussan spoke, two men uncovered the caskets, to reveal two bodies.

The corpses looked white and like stereotypical depictions of aliens — big head, little body, three fingers. Maussan said they were found in Peru in 2017 and are estimated to be 1,000 years old. One of the bodies had been pregnant, he claimed.
