You’re the only fucking idiot that’s taking things as 100% absolute.  Henry is primarily a two down back except for short yardage situations in an obvious passing situation he’s a non-factor. He’s not even on the fucking field

I will say I think the game plan was to use Evans on full drives during the game and keep Henry on the field more on 3rd and medium a lot more often. He would obviously be off the field on 99% of 3rd and long plays, but I think they were wanting to add him more into the third down packages this year. The past two years there were a ton of instances where he was coming off even on 3rd and 3, almost as a breather.

Okay, what constitutes "3rd and Long"?  Greater than how many yards?  What's the cutoff?  I know it doesn't matter, since you don't think words hold much meaning.

3rd and 6

I’d consider third and long to be 7 yards or more but in reality Henry comes off the field if it’s anything more than third and three. Aside from the two exceptions I posted earlier where they were running the ball in overtime to set up a game-winning field goal after already being in field-goal range.

McNichols is the back in these passing situations and I don’t know why this is so hard for you to grasper except other than I’m the one that said it

Not 3rd and long they weren't. They even drafted Evans with a high pick to take that role

I know. I’m talking about 3rd and medium and short. Like I said, the past two years even on third and short he was coming off the field quite a bit.

I haven’t seen a change in how they’ve used Henry this year versus past years. If he’s playing in that mid range of third down like third and 4 to 3rd and six, he’s not getting carries and he’s not getting receptions so he’s either being used as a blocker or a decoy in a pass pattern. But honestly I don’t remember hardly any of those scenarios

Yea but @CreepingDeath found 1 reception on 3rd and 2 to totally defeat a 100% absolute! Burrrrrn!

Almost as if the original point couldn't be defeated!

The splits I found show Henry with 2 attempts in the range of 4-7 (no range given greater than that, so the assumption is no attempts).  So I don't have certainty for that.

Yeah the two rushing attempts were the ones I fucking talked about. They were in overtime. One against the Seahawks and the other one was against the Colts. In each case the Titans were playing to set up the game-winning field goal attempt.

If they had been trying to get first downs, they would’ve had to throw it and he wouldn’t of been on the field

He comes off on passing situations on 3rd down and when they are running their 2 minute drill in pass mode.

by the way no one has ever said he’s never on the field on third down. It was always in third down passing situations. You’re arguing semantics when the reality is that Derrick Henry is a two down/short yardage running back. That’s the reality but you found those 2 3 and long rushing attempts!

Never mind they weren’t even bothering to get first downs they were just moving closer to kick a field goal so they weren’t obvious passing situations.

I could be wrong. Like I said I just remember how often he was coming out on 3rd and short and it didn’t seem to be with the same frequency under Downing.

This is funny considering you called people out for claiming facts, yet you now lean on "beliefs"

And anyway, what do you think Henry's skill set would do to help the offense in 3rd and long? He's not carrying the ball and he hasn't had a reception in 3 years on 3rd down. Do you honestly believe defenses would have to account for him in anyway?  He wouldn't be helping the offensive production on 3rd and long.

This is fucking hilarious at this point.  Look we all like Derrick Henry.  But you have these posters attributing  beliefs that just aren't TRUE at all.  Derrick Henry affects PA passing.  NFL defenders are scared to tackle Derrick Henry!  Now, Derrick Henry is a true 3 down back (NOT TRUE)!
