Week 7 proved Oilerman right

I'm not as big of a Jon Robinson fan as most of you here. But you simply can't beat two of the 'elite' AFC teams on back-to-back

weeks with 28 injuries having not built an incredibly deep roster - from 1 to 53 + practice squad + players dispersed throughout the league

on others practice squads. A street free agent LT is not supposed to be able to keep his QB upright.

I'm a far bigger fan of Mike Vrabel than most here. But you can't take this hodge podge roster missing key players at LT, across the secondary

and throughout the roster and easily beat the Chiefs, beat the Bills and be sitting in a good position to win the division without great coaching.

That first half yesterday was masterful. The second half, not as much. But certainly reflective of Vrabel and staff completely out coaching Reid and

staff.

Oilerman will eat the bullets for suggesting that we re-up both guys before season ends to assure that this generation of Titans leadership stays

in place for a period.

Colts week may change everything ... but through week 7 ... Oman looks to have been dead right.

Jrob has had far more hits than misses, and very concerning. Vrabel is working magic with the backups.  Not to beat the Tanne drum, but he is working under terrible pressure, as is Henry trying to run the ball with a makeshift line that is banged up something awful.   To expound further on Jrob:

Evans wasn't impressive at all. Maybe it's too soon to tell. At least he didn't get injured.

We were almost out of linemen, but still, our #1 pick never got in the game.  Up 27-3 in the 4th and you can't even get this guy some playing time? Is he that bad?

Fitzpatrick a bust.

Weaver gone before he even got started.

Lamm certainly not a very good backup.

Farley may never get back to football.

Some of the vets he brings in are bad.

Not impressed with him at all.

Your view of the Titans' roster that just knocked off two top AFC teams back to back:

Did you expect that we would beat/stomp Chiefs offense with Matthias Farley, Greg Mabin, etc headlining the secondary?

Did you expect Tanne to largely escape the game with a clean jersey with a street free agent at LT and injuries impacting Saffold throughout the game?

Did you expect this team to be 5-2 when reviewing schedule prior to this year?

BTW, anyone who thinks that I am OMAN CULT hasn't been here for a decade with Scotty randomly bashing me about the head one time.

I still vacillate on Robinson. His misses drive me flipping crazy - the Isaiah Wilson pick alone would be enough. But he also has a way of hitting with mid to late

rounders who end up being more than serviceable - and the Denico Autry signing was clearly the most important of this offseason - and it was a bit under the radar.

This isn't done.  But both Coordinators are proving to be far more capable than I imagined.

In total ... yeah, I stick with my initial comment.

I personally thought the Chiefs game would be close.  I thought our defense would struggle against Mahommes, and that the offense would do what it does every week...run until we have to pass, and then we would watch Tanny get the game competitive, at which point we would run again.

That didn't happen.  We passed to start the game, let the Chiefs shut down Henry as much as is possible, while taking advantage of having a good QB and WRs.  I was shocked.

That said, I also knew Vrabel would use the prevent offense in the second half, which he did.  If the Chiefs weren't such a mess right now, that may have come back to haunt us.

The Bills games is the one solid victory so far.  This week is a big game because despite Indy not being great, they are better coached and really need a victory...and we are due for a Vrabel special where we play like dog shit against an inferior opponent.

KC isn't close to elite this year.  Do we get props for beating 'elite' Seattle too, since they won the SB a decade ago?

How many of our wins were against teams with winning records?

Answer: 1.

KC offense is still elite and has 3 of the best players at their respective positions and we shut them out.

That's true, and I'm not trying to belittle the defense in the last effort.  The offense made them one dimensional by getting the big lead, and the defense was able to feast.

I have no problem admitting that the defense over the past two games has been much better than I expected.
