He played the 3 technique DT far more than he ever played 1 tec The vast majority of his snaps in Seattle were as a 3 technique DT, not as the 1 technique. Pulling a video from his rookie season in 2016 where he had some snaps over the center is hardly some revelation. Perhaps you should have bothered to watch film from 2017 - 2020. For the last 3 seasons, Al Woods and Poona Ford played the 1 technique DT in Seattle. Reed played the 3 technique. Yes, but he played nose at Alabama a ton. I do bet he’d be reluctant to spend a lot of time doing the dirty work here though.

Just because he played 3T, doesn't mean that's what he's limited to. However he did play a lot of 1T his rookie year ;)

You said that he didn’t /couldn’t play NT which is obviously false. He has played the position and played it well. Now does he play other positions? Of course. SleepingTitan
I'd personally prefer to go NASCAR with 4 DEs like the Giants did. I think old school 3-4 with a big nose is unnecessary. You need fast guys who can penetrate angles when the pocket moves. Vrabel on the other hand will ask for a true NT and there are plenty in the draft 3-4th rounds. Based on shit Wyatt has said, were def drafting IDL in middle rounds.

I would love to get Marvin Wilson in the 4th and (though it seems like it’s a pipe dream) bring back Clowney. On obvious pass down, 3 down linemen would be Simmons, Autry and Clowney. Landry and Dupree on the edges.

Of course they would be in the nickel on obvious passing downs however Clowney wouldn't be a backup. He'd slide inside and rotate with Landry. In passing situations the front end be Dupree, Clowney, Simmons, and Landry with Autry spelling Clowney and Simmons.
