AvgJoe
Rarely do I pound the table for players from my college team, but I hope we draft Jaelan Phillips out of Miami. He would be a terrific edge presence and is strong rushing the passer AND playing the run. A kid who almost quit football due to injury after injury and the mental toll, but has gotten his head on straight. He is projected as a 2nd or 3rd round player

The Joseph move is just an exclamation point on how historically bad the offseason was. I thought Clowney was the right move, but given the inevitable fact of how he would go on IR at some point and wasnt conditioned or playing within the defense, I was wrong - it was a misuse of resources. I had Robinson pretty well tabbed this offseason between Clowney and the other FA moves, and knew he’d pick Wilson, so bought into these moves early. I guess even the best of em make their share of mistakes, Robinson just decided to get them all out of the way in one offseason. Between Clowney and Beasley’s $$$, we could have added a truly impactful piece or retained our other guys even though they were flawed. But hindsight is 20/20 right? Luckily, Robinson’s failures this offseason between FA and the drafthave been partially or mostly offset by his ability to find late round talent and rake guys off the scrap heap. But it’s also a testament to the coaching staff in developing these guys and using them correctly/putting them in position to succeed.
AussieTitanFan08
Don't blame JRob for taking a chance on Clowney it was just a calculated risk that didn't pan out, can't bring him back next season though as Rapoport mentioned is something that the Titans haven't ruled out, would be insanity to gamble on Clowney a second time. The Beasley signing and the drafting of Wilson are much bigger issues on JRob's record.

If they do that, they’re retards unless its just on a huge discount which is probably why they’re considering it with the condensed cap.

I'm not bringing back a guy with his injury history who also does everything possible not to participate in training camp or OTA's.
AvgJoe
Unless Clowney is willing to sign for under $5M, he’s not worth the risk at this point.

AussieTitanFan08
JRob needs to go back to his "tough smart team first guys who love football" mantra this upcoming offseason anytime he has strayed from that it has basically been a disaster, its also why I would be doing everything possible to keep both Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis both guys who over the course of 4 years have shown they do things the right way. ChemEngr79
I was hoping he could come back healthy for our playoff run, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be... Roberson and the PS depth will have a chance to shine, so maybe we get lucky.
SuperFreak90
For the bad players, Wilson, Clowney, Beasley, Joseph. JRob has just as many big hits. King, Borders, Tart, Quessenberry, and Brewer. This team being 8-3 is a testament to the job JRob and Vrabel do with a pandemic going on, and making things work. I agree with this. I would do everything possible to keep the offense intact if I’m Robinson. Kerrigan would be a very smart addition to the defense and fits the team player/Titan mold perfectly so he has to be a target.

I want Kerrigan on the edge. Proven rusher, will come cheaper due to age and wanting to chase a ring, selfless veteran leader who has worked with Haslett. He’s a big guy that we can pair with our smaller guys in Landry and Roberson. Titans clearly interested. I’d also draft one early. I will be highly surprised if Davis is retained, he needs a better opportunity to showcase is talent and earn future money on a higher volume passing team. I’d be all for it though. Really is remarkable that when you sit back and look what this team has gone through so far this season and yet they are sitting at 8-3 still with control of the division title in their own hands. If before the season you had told me that before week 13 the following happened - Large scale covid outbreak within the organization - Adoree wouldn't play a single snap - Lewan would be done before the end of week 5 and Quessenberry would be starting LT - Beasley and Clowney would contribute nothing of significance - Top 3 draft picks (Wilson/Fulton/Evans) would barely see the field let along contribute. - The top end of your offensive skill positions (Brown/Davis/Jonnu/Humphries) all miss games - Defensively the team was on track to be historically bad on 3rd down defense - Worst FG percentage in the NFL for a second straight year. There is no way you would think the record would be 8-3.
