Buttigieg Out (Update: Endorsing Biden)

I'm all for a democratic candidate that can provide Trump with the funniest one-liners.  Buttigieg, being all gay and stuff, kinda puts a limit on those opportunities.  So I'm glad he's out of the race.

Perhaps but he had 0% chance of beating Trump.  There's just no way a gay person is going to be elected president right now.  Too many haters still on the planet.

Maybe so, but I am personally concerned more about one's policies than sexual orientation, and more people really need to get on board with that.

Me too and that was sort of my point.

I think no one wants to say it but the non-white part of the Democratic party is still pretty anti-gay. If the GOP wasn't the racist white identity politics party a lot of black people and Hispanics would be a much more natural fit in a more socially/culturally conservative party.

Yes AND Pete has some questionable/difficult race related issues in Indiana.  He had no record or connection to help with that.  He needs a good role that gives him a chance to build connections, history and accomplishments with minorities.   And he needs the next generation to be a bigger voting block than the last generation.

I've been saying it for months.

Yeah it's a fairly obvious point that I don't think anyone in the media will talk about or risk calling out homophobia in minority communities because they don't want to seem racist.

Yup. I was going to vote for Biden anyway after SC. I hope Mayor Pete has a future in politics. His message is still the best of all the candidates.

Oh no doubt he does, I can almost guarantee he will be president at some point.

I’d like to see him as a top cabinet member in a Biden admin if not VP.

Amy, can you hear me?

She needs to stay in through Tue to prevent Sanders from taking delegates in Minnesota. same with Warren in Massachusetts. Mayor Pete didnt have a state to deliver so he could get out now.

It will be interesting to see if Pete dropping out ends up helping Warren. A lot of her support early on went over to Pete (well educated whites). People might decide it’s too late for her to win but she could end up getting some of those voters back.

Does Bloomberg have a similar rationale ?
