But yes, I'd say if the Titans do end up going 10-6 that would probably be enough to win the division. If the Texans can just stop freakin' winning everything will be a lot better. nine Posted November 9, 2018 Report Share Posted November 9, 2018 Titans have already lost to most of the other wildcard contenders and have a 2-4 record in the conference....so they come up short in pretty much any tiebreaker scenario. They have to either win the division or watch the playoffs from home. Assuming the Titans are able to maintain the improved play we've seen in the past couple weeks and compete....the most straightforward path to the division crown is to beat the Texans in Houston and earn one more game on them somewhere else. The problem is, the Texans are hot right now; they're playing good football and the rest of their schedule is easier than the Titans. Houston's toughest matchups are at Philly and at Washington, and their remaining division matchups are all home games. They probably won't run the table...but unless the Titans can get hot and get on a run of their own, it's gonna be tough to gain a game somewhere else. No, the wild card tie-breakers are terrible for the Titans and it would be almost impossible for them to get in tying another non AFC South team as the 6th seed. However, their divisional tie-breaker situation is outstanding. If they win 3 of the 4 remaining divisional games, which they'd likely have to do to have any chance at 10-6, they'd clinch the divisional tie-breaker over any of the other 3 teams. And of course, there’s also the fact that the Titans are only one game ahead of the Colts, who are coming off back-to-back wins with Luck starting to regain his form. Granted, their wins came against the Bills and Raiders....but they might very well make a late run. From a Titans perspective, those two matchups are shaping up to be a much bigger challenge than anyone anticipated a couple weeks ago. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I doubt that happens though, so 10-6 with a win over Texas looks like the only route to the playoffs. It’s an uphill climb for a young offense still trying to find its identity.
