He may not have a concussion.  It wasn't a head shot.  Boxers are knocked out all the time from uppercuts to the chin.  It's due to the way the neck and chin are twisted.  Is every knockout a concussion?  I really don't know.

I never thought about that.

Can an you get knocked out and not be a concussion? Huh...

you can just pass out I guess.

Lewan could have have just felt something go numb from a stinger and stayed down till he felt normal.

... but I think it was stated he’s in the protocol.

I hate to say it, but Lewan and this offensive line is so overrated. Nothing like Stewart and Roos or the offensive lines of years past.

At least the offensive line is consistent.  They are overrated as a top five unit in the league by everybody doing the ratings.

Im sure yall are familiar with whiplash. And yes, a concussion can occur from it.

If it wasn't a concussion, I couldn't see why he wouldn't have returned.

Yeah of course but that’s not necessarily relevant.

Concussions are also not really cut and dry except in the extremes.

You cant be on the field and look and guess with certainty always. Not like a dislocated ankle. Often mri’s are needed and even then not 100% accurate.

The league forces trainers to err on the side of caution... to the point where if there’s suspicions then they are required to hold out.

That said I’m pretty sure he’s in the concussion protocol... which would indicate evidence.

How exactly isn't it relevant?

Torment said it may not be a concussion due to him not actually being hit in the head but mentioned the "twisting of the neck and chin". Well the definition of whiplash in a case of injury is the severe jerk of the head.

Well, it stands to reason that since the head is directly attached to the neck, any sever jerk of the neck will result in a sever jerk of the head.

And this isn't about guessing on anytjing. This is 2, now 3 days removed and everything Ive seen on Lewan has been about concussion.

We have seen guys take bad hits in a game, get cleared of concussion and come right back in. So if Lewan didn't indeed suffer a concussion and we had that second long as delay, what exactly is the reason for not bringing him back?

Error on the side or caution?

So not only have we gotten worse under Vrabel, we got soft as well?

Notice how the team was not amped up AT ALL after that hit on Lewan. Sure, a little scuffle happened. Then everyone got flat again.

cause its a joint thing and not a consciousness or concussion thing

theres bad hits but out cold and back in would never be allowed.

i think you can get popped on the chin and get a concussion pretty easily.

all trainers / docs are required to err on the side of caution. theres independant evaluators for concussion so that coaches dont kill players.

but yeah... i think you can solidly say that vrabel will protect the players more than the last staff. maybe rightly so.

im not sure anybody was amped up after the first pause

the team said the dolphins had the AC on so high in the locker room and everyone was so wet that guys were sitting in the hot bath and showers in their pads trying to stay warm.

Why?  So Lewan can commit yet another dumb penalty and probably get himself ejected to the detriment of the team?

Well if we lucky we build a lead and he can take his revenge in the second half.... although I would prefer to see it on the first play.

The body bag comment.... you can't take that shit
