You know what's hilariously pathetic? Fox news showing pictures of Ertz and others KNEELING IN PRAYER to rile up all the Trumpers. What a disingenuous, disrespectful thing to do. Meanwhile, all the people who watch fox news and  have no tether to reality are going to think the Eagles kneeled during the anthem when they didn't.

Trump only gives a shit about the anthem thing because he knows it plays with his base; he is grandstanding and making this an issue and more of a national conversation because it gives him attention dollars.

they should sue... seriously

Absolutely false.

No.  What qualifies you?  If you are talking about the words having different meanings then I would suggest you look up the definitions because they are definitely two different words.

If you are referring to the military, then you are in no way qualified to make that statement.  I don't speak for everyone, but my experience and relationships within the military I guarantee dwarfs yours.

They're protesting inequality and police violence (among other things) during the anthem. They're not protesting the anthem itself.

Thank you for proving the point.

Then why use the anthem as platform? Does it stand for inequality and police violence? If not, then why that outlet? Why not protest in front of police stations or the White House or the Capitol. Asking Americans to understand that you protesting the flag and anthem has nothing to do with your beliefs on the flag and anthem is nonsensical. There is no need to bear around the bush. Protest the stuff you are against rather than some unrelated thing that you decided you want to represent the stuff you are against.

you are imposing your logic on the rest of the country. The masses are dumb and emotional. Protesting the anthem for whatever reason is bad optics. I say that as someone who doesn't personally care about the protests.

Lol....most of the Eagles weren't going to show up anyway. So, Trump's handlers advised him to make the preemptive move to disinvite them as opposed to letting them no-show. It's a basic PR move to feign that you're calling the shots and doesn't signify any type of badassery.

Nailed it.

You choose to protest at a time when it will be noticed because it brings attention to the protest, to make people uncomfortable and to (hopefully) cause them to reflect and consider the actual issues bring protested.

Show me the quotes from Trump to justify that comment.

I've yet to see a defense of the Central Park five. Explain how that is not racist after DNA evidence was provided?

Assessing causes of miscommunication, analyzing biases and backgrounds, identifying the true sources of a dispute and accurately labeling these items is a universally applicable process. Your military experience is irrelevant to the principles I noted... being that it's a bias which potentially inhibits your ability to listen to those protesting and accurately understand their message.

Hopefully, more people eventually develop the capacity for discernment and actually value the requisite humility and courage necessary to actively work towards understanding and filtering disputes in a manner that begins to resolve them. As of now, we are moving backwards at an astonishing rate and this fake controversy promoted by the POTUS for political gain and adopted whole cloth by so many is front and center.
