Has there ever been a more valuable player to a team than Aaron Rodgers is to GB?

It's Rodgers easily, there's no talent besides Jordy and the often injured tackles on offense and the defense is run by Capers who is terrible. Yet, they have made the playoffs damn near his entire career because he carries the team like no one ever has besides Peyton (who had more talent so the nod goes to Rodgers)

they do it in different ways so hard to compare but I think I would lean to Rodgers.  Hard to argue it looking at the Packers now.

something about Manning telling the punting unit to turn around and head back to the bench always impressed me.  I think Manning had a good bit of say in the way things were done on and off the field.

While I agree Rodgers is better, don't forget how bad Indy was after Manning missed the season, and they ended up with the worst record.

The Packers pick toward the end of rounds in the draft, year after year.  But even still, they should have better talent.  Fans own the team.  What kind of spending have they been doing to surround Rodgers with talent?

Keep in mind the Packers are winless without Rodgers and besides a division upset or two, I don't see that changing.... Without Rodgers the Packers are just as bad as the Colts, Browns and 9ers.

True.  I do believe that Rodgers is the most impactful QB to his team, maybe ever.  Manning a close second even with his playoff troubles.

The Colts also went from perennial contenders to 2-14 when Manning left with injury.

Now you can say that when Luck came in they improved again, but if the Packers lost Rodgers forever after this year and drafted their own version of Andrew Luck they'd still be good too.

Its easily Rodgers. He really should be the MVP every year. GB is always a top team and a threat because of him. He makes everything look easy. He makes jaw dropping throws every week but its just the norm for him so no one cares. Manning I would say is next. We saw how bad the Colts were once he went down but that was one of their least talented teams they had with him. If Manning went down in his prime I dont think the Colts would be a bottom 5 team because they had some talent on those teams.

As much as I used to talk about Manning's playoff Achilles, his performance against Seattle was painful to watch.  This guy could ruin a playoff game just by thinking about one.  Same thing happened at TN.

I think his saving grace though was his last game, a lesson he only learned in the end.  It's a team.  He had to rely on his teammates.  Before the Seattle game, it was all about him.  Every teammate as great as they were parroted "we want to win for Peyton."  The opening drive of the second half of that game SB win, Peyton played his part.  He found a few good passes and they scored a TD.  He relied on his teammates.
