Face Posted August 13, 2017 Report Share Posted August 13, 2017 BTW f*ck the penalty, how about the fact that Casey is 6'1 310 & lined up at OLB & destroyed a double team to get to the QB. He did say he got stronger to play the run better right? He seriously looked like Geno Atkins pre ACL year last night, he was dominant in just 3-4 plays. Casey was coming with high pressure and got blocked to the right at the last second and he almost beat the block but he started falling and th4 guy that was blocking him followed through and pushed him to the ground right at McCown's feet. His momentum drove him low. I don't think he even hit McCown in the legs, he was around his ankles. If a defender appears to be going to the ground and grabs at the QB's legs...there's a good chance it gets flagged, regardless of whether he actually hits him in the knees. It's just like the blow-to-the-helmet rule. We've all seen defenders called for roughing the passer when their hand barely grazed the QB's helmet or facemask...or even when it didn't hit the helmet at all. But if it looks like a blow to the head from the referee's vantage point, they're gonna flag it. I just hope Mariota is afforded the same level of protection by the officials.
