Reminds me of Michael Bennett. I think Robinson values on the field play than off the field exercising. Hope his shoulders don't give him any trouble. I like him too but I don't get why people keep saying his size is an issue... He's 6'3" and 286.. Average NFL DT is 6'3 295 so the guy needs to gain 9 lbs... That will happen fast when he hits the NFL gym.

My concern is his shoulders but the Bama Dr's say they are fine just arthritis set in earlier than some.
socaltitan
I remember the being slow off the snap concerns were there for Leonard Williams coming out of the draft as well. I don't remember Williams testing great either, though he has more size than Allen. It's disappointing he didn't test better, but it doesn't dissuade me from wanting to pick Allen. I think he'd be a great pick.

I think his shoulders will be fine for now, but it could shorten his career by a few years after 5-8 years of abuse.

Allen makes splash plays but then disappears for long stretches. He lacks some of the traits (I personally) you look for when evaluating interior DL. I'm not saying he can't be a good player but I think his upside is more limited than some of the scouts are letting on. Just my two cents.

If you watch Williams and Allen back to back it's really not close. Williams was also only 20 years old at the time.
Face
I think interior DL tend to be underrated in general. Their good plays don't really stand out compared to edge players or LBers. When you focus on them they really just look slow, because you have much quicker players running around them. This is the same thing that happened with Bosa. Though he played DE he was really an interior sized guy, people thought he looked unimpressive. Don't forget a lot of folks weren't exactly enamored with Big Cat in 2015 either, for the same reasons. Aaron Donald is one of the only interior guys I've seen look really explosive. He looks like he's shot out of a cannon. But the bottom line is while these guys may not look that impressive, Allen put up over 80 combined sacks & pressures this year, and was a total monster in the running game.
