Lots of talk saying his injury absences at the Senior Bowl and Combine have cemented his draft stock at the mid-late first round. I think he could be in play at #18. Williams used and abused Anthony Averett, not Humphrey. Humphrey shut down John Ross in the CFP semifinals. I think Humphrey was on Williams for maybe one of his catches. Regarding our plan, I don't know what it is specifically, but our approach thus far doesn't surprise me. We will definitely take at least two WR/TEs in the draft. And maybe sign another one. My hope is to trade back with someone at 10-12, pick up a 2nd rounder, as draft Davis at 10-12 and a CB at 18. Might even do Davis at 10-12 howard at 18 CB at our 2nd rounder we picked up. StephenIsLegend
We address offense in the draft. That should be obvious. Kyle is just upset J Rob didn't follow one of his plans.

What most good teams do......Build through the draft and don't spend stupid money on overpriced free agents. The defense and special teams were obviously the biggest weaknesses we have and he addressed most of those. I know I have posted this fact multiple times on this site but it bears another reminder this time of year. When the Titans went to the SuperBowl, 18 out of the 22 starters were drafted by the team. That's one reason we haven't been back since. Webster has been a total buffoon when it came to building the team.

And that's fine, I don't mind building through the draft, the problem I have is this assumption that all Free Agents are overpriced, that is simply not true. Plus the fact that we a have so much money to spend, we should have been overpaying for some these guys and front loading the money. I want the Playoffs next year, I don't think we will improve through the draft alone to get to that level.

It won't be long before there will be a few players on this team that need overpaying just to keep them. Casey, Rak, DMorg, Lewan and Marcus etc. may eat deeper into that cap space than we realize. Tim
I don't care as much about what the Texans and Jags are doing. Long term, our problem is the Colts because they have the QB. We need to freaking figure out how to beat them.

I think part of the equation is that Mularkey and Robinson are looking for specific players that fit their vision of what this team should look like. I'm sure that weeds out some good players that they don't target. Hightower is looking for the big payday. I think the Pats uncharacteristically overpaid for Cooks and Gilmore but they were players vital to this years success. I think they overpaid because Brady's window is starting to close and they are going to ride him like a rented mule until then. We are more in the building process and that lends itself to being fiscally smart.

As if they expect Mularkey and Robiskie to abandon it. I didn't hear anyone say: Quote Despite the fact "Exotic Smashmouth" took us from the cellar to competing for the AFC south in 2016, we're gonna scrap it and go 5-Wide this season. Marcus needs the spread to succeed. I look for JRob to reinforce everything Mularkey has done up to this point. And as long as the improvements keep coming, he should. KnoxTitan
The more I think about it, I think we're doing pretty well. It's clear that JRob doesn't believe in throwing around gigantic $$$'s in free agency. And as disappointing as that is from a fan excitement standpoint - it's probably pretty damn smart. Lets face it - most free agents get to be free agents for a reason. We needed to fix the secondary - we already have Sims who's good to go at one corner spot. Ryan pencils in on the other. Byard and Cyprien are the two starting safeties. We could use a nickel, and always more talent, but that's a hell of a lot better than 2 months ago. We have 4 top-100 picks in probably the best DB draft I've ever seen. We'll add more here in the draft, guaranteed. ILB - I don't think the Titans think that's as big a problem as we do here on the board. Plus, linebackers usually don't make a ton unless you're a pass rusher or Luke Kuechley. WR - Matthews is good, Sharpe is fine for his role, and we'll probably add one of Ross/Williams/Davis in the draft, and fish another guy out of free agency. We're in a good spot - we're a 9-7 team with fewer holes than people think.

Funny how some poke fun of the ST moves. Bad move to improve something that was clearly a major weakness last season. The only thing I wish they would've done more about is WR. Perhaps they're locked into a WR with one of the 1sts. I'd like to see us in on someone though. Even if it's just a guy like Aiken. They were equally quiet about OT last season when then were a few guys like Mitchell Schwartz out there. We later found out why.
