Marcus' recovery affects how we look at QB's this offseason according to JRob

you simply can't compare the two injuries, by the sound of things Carr was a simple broken leg, Marcus' involved a syndesmosis injury as well.

yes he should be fine for august/september, but JRob simply must take precautions because no one absolutely knows what will happen when Marcus starts doing full weight bearing exercises again, remember he isn't even allowed to walk on that leg until early March, two months post operation.

Do you guys not see what we are doing?

Oakland is using exact time frame for recovery.

We are babying Mariota bc HE is the TITANS.

He could run in May if he wanted and return for OTA but why risk it? Give him the additional rest and PT and allow his leg to be fully conditioned.

We are taking precautions because of his value and not necessarily the injury.

It's more important he is 100% week 1 and participates in camp than to rush into OTA and preseason work.

There are no games until August. Rushing him is not necessary.

Calm the Fuck down

NO we aren't being different just to baby.  It's a different injury than carr's still the same break but mariotas was worse and involved a ligament.

Was the syndemosis confirmed or are you basing it off what a guy on twitter siad by watching the hit?

and a few weeks after walking he will be jogging.

A month after walking he will be running full speed and shortly after will be able to plant and cut just fine.

It would be a diff story if he broke a damn ankle

Mariota could easily be a full go Day 1 TC but we are holding him out because there is no need for him to be full speed day 1 coming off a fractured fibula

calm your tits

We don't play Sunday. We don't play next month. We don't play for 6 months and we don't even play a real game for 7 months.

He will fucking be fine

Carr is the Raiders.  See playoff game as evidence.

I assume JR is going to go after a young qualified backup.

I wouldn't be mad if we signed Glennon to a nice deal as a #2

i expect a big push for Hoyer

fuck a rookie

I definitely agree with you that JR saying this does not mean we are drafting a guy.  He wants a vet who can win some games.

Are you saying Carr has more value to Oakland than MM to Tennessee? If so that's insane

Its two different players with same injury but two different doctors with two different approaches.

One is more aggressive (Oakland)

One is more conservative (Titans)

I would take Kelly in 7 but no one else unless Watson is at our pick in 3 then you have to undoubtedly take him and I'm saying it because that would never happen

I would take Kaaya in 5 actually.

How does that help at all?  What JRob is talking about is if he needs to pony a little bit for a solid vet to potentially start if needed who can run the 1st team offense in the offseason.  Not some green rookie that can't find his butt with both hands. The time to draft that guy is when Marcus is healthy.  My guess is  the plan was to go with Tanney as the #2 but if Marcus isn't available and there is doubt about being 100% to start TC you might bring back a guy like Cassell.

Developmental.

There's not a QB Jrob has drafted on the team. We don't know how he feels about Tanny. I could definitely see him draft a guy he likes to develop.
