In his first start he might have been worse. I think his numbers ended up being good but I watched that game and he looked terrible

I listened to Cosell talk about Lynch and he was as critical about him as I've heard him on any QB

Heard Cosell this morning with Ross Tucker. To say Cosell was brutal in his assessment of Lynch would be kind

Heard that, too.....Cosell was discussing young quarterbacks, and made a comparison between Lynch and Carson Wentz.

As Cosell put it, no young QB comes out of college as a completely polished and refined passer.   Like any other young QB,  Wentz needs to  refine his throwing motion and mechanics....but he's a capable starting QB who just needs to tweak some things here and there.

He was far less optimistic about Lynch, and said his mechanics are so bad, his entire throwing motion will need to be torn down and reworked from the ground up...and at this stage in his career, he has no business starting for an NFL team.

Yes, he said Wenz needs tweaking, Lynch a complete overhaul

Jerry Jones tried hard to trade up for Lynch!

He'll be a lot more concerned about him if Siemian isn't ready to play but plays anyways, gets re-injured and is lost for the year.

This game is not a must for Denver.  Unless Siemian is ready he shouldn't be playing.

The Broncos are a game behind the Raiders and Chiefs and fighting for a playoff spot. all games are must win at this stage.

They are also a game ahead.  They can likely afford one loss.

I wouldn't send Siemian out if there's a legit chance he could get injured again.

I'd forgotten about that.  Imagine how different this year's NFL media landscape would have been if Jerry succeeded and got Lynch instead of Dak Prescott.

sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Collinsworth also told the story of how Dallas subsequently tried desperately to trade up later in the draft for Connor Cook, but missed out.  Consolation prize was Dak,... option 3 at that point.

Dallas' luck (or saved from Jerrah's meddling hands) in the last several drafts has been ungodly good.

QB is like the most impossible position to project to the NFL. Every time you think you know what it's going to take at the next level the perfect prospect flops or a 5'10" 3rd rounder makes it.

You clearly didn't see Lynch last week

You're right I didn't. But I do know our history facing backup QB's and you do as well. It's not like Siemian is all that great either, for whatever reason this team always seems to fall flat when facing an inferior backup with little to no tape on. Hopefully they can kick that trend but until they do I will be pessimistic.
