I must have missed that. When did Mett ever look good last year?

He looked good enough in preseason last year that the ESPN commentators compiled a list of teams that should have been calling.

They probably did call too.  But Ruston Webster was too smart for them, and hung onto The Mettster.

lol

The ball is late. You will get crushed here if you don't step up your analysis.

We don't know if the ball was late, it looked to me like he had to fit it btwn the corner & safety as well.

Okay Homer. If you can't take legit criticism of Mariota that's your problem not ours.

I gave an actual analysis of what I saw on the play. You immediately resort to name calling and offered no more insight to defend your opinion.

I'll gladly debate football, if you can bring relevant info to the convo

I've been lurking here for a while. I know the "analysis" that goes on around here.

It's the same "analysis" that lead 90% of this board to think Mett was a franchise QB lol

There were 2 people here that thought Mett was a franchise guy and they are both insane.

Some people were optimistic that he could turn out well. Others thought he had major issues from his first year.

He floated the ball which he has done since Oregon. It was pointed out last year as one of the few things he needs to work on. It's okay to admit he's not perfect.

Charles Davis said it was late. Mariota has a history of not throwing with pace down the field which is probably directly attributed to having guys run free at Oregon. He needs to clean it up.

It is possible for Mariota to play well and still need improvement. I thought he was solid but could have been better. We can definitely win games if he plays like he did last night but there is still room to grow. Not sure why Tux can't see that.

The big pass could have had a bit more zip on it to get it there before the safety. I did love the one play where he gave the impression he was going to take off only to toss it to the open guy when his defender moved to stop Mariota run.

The pass was completed. The receiver had to wait for it to arrive. I guess it comes to whether you call that a good pass.

To meet it all comes down to the S over top. If the S wasn't there, then I'd agree. But S was coming to lay a hit either way.

Maybe he could have thrown it earlier, but that wasn't his 1st option. DW was his 1st read, but was covered up. All in all it only took 2.5 seconds for him to identify his 1st option, come off one read and throw to his 2nd option.

It's not like he held onto the ball forever like some are making it sound.

Only way that ball comes out faster is if Tajae was his 1st read.

As far as floating it though, there wasn't another way to throw it at the time he identifed Sharpe as open. Again, if Sharpe was the 1st read, then he should have thrown it quicker with less air bc the safety wouldn't have come over top yet ... but that wasn't the case here.
