People disliked Hillary more than Michelle when she was first lady. You might hear more negativity towards Obama, but that's only because of the massive social media we have now. As TitanDuckFan pointed out, it has more to do with ideological differences as the main driver. If you don't like the president (for many reasons outside of the color of his skin), you tend to look for the negatives of those that surround him, and vice versa. So when Michelle takes all those lavish expensive vacations, it rubs the wrong way to the one side, while the other side doesn't care. As for irrational criticism, I heard all sorts lobbied at Bush while in office.

Hard to imagine you've never seen the meme, but apparently it has two meanings...one being a cow, the other being "moocher". https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120908054428AAk09Xa https://www.google.com/search?q=moochelle&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS469US469&espv=2&biw=1531&bih=810&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiBtdDdxJHOAhVB7iYKHao7BF0Q_AUICCgB Some interesting images in there. Do you see any that could be taken as racist? Duckie is right, I think most of the hate stems from ideological differences, but there's enough racial comments, memes, and imagery to make anyone question the source of the hate. Sometimes I make conclusions and push buttons that I probably shouldn't. So my apologies if I suggested something of you that was not accurate. TitanDuckFan
For ages large women have been referred to as "moose," and Michelle Obama is definitely a large woman, and I'm not just referring to her girth. She's a big gal. But she's also the first lady, and the crassness that's been so pervasive when attacking her has been over the top. I don't like a lot of the things she's said, and I don't agree with her about a lot of things, but dammit, she's the first lady. I don't expect any better out of Limbaugh or Beck, but I never use them as sources anyway. Rarely has the term "consider the source" been so aptly applied, when it comes to those two. For once, instead of making some inane unfounded comment, he quoted Politico, a favorite of the left side of arguments around here. And like it or not, refusing to use the term "Islamic terrorism" will most likely become a part of Obama's legacy. That's reality. Whether that is seen as a good thing or bad hasn't been determined. Cyrus
Oldschool calling him out is more fruitless than merely wrong. Let's not pretend that TennesseeTuxedo is willing to even be engaged on the topic. He's mostly just dumping links and copy-pasting from somewhere else. The reality is that politics is just another game for partisans. Might as well be Yankees-Red Sox.
Titans279
I think that the DNC is having nights focused on particular topics. Yesterday was immigration, tonight seems that it's going to be police/minority relations. I'm sure there will be an economic focus and terrorism/foreign policy on different nights too. The RNC was supposed to be that too. The speakers just didn't actually write speeches on certain topics. There were basically no economic/jobs speeches on the "Make America Work Again" night. It was all still about ISIS or immigrants killing people. Also, hey look an American flag at a DNC protest! Amazing what happens if you look farther than one conservative meme to form your thoughts.
