socaltitan
Titans agreed to terms with WR Rishard Matthews on a three-year contract. He chose the Titans over the Patriots, almost certainly because Tennessee offered more money. Matthews, 26, caught 43 passes for 662 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games for the Dolphins last year, showing playmaking ability in the short and intermediate range. He is adept after the catch and has strong hands. In Tennessee, Matthews should provide a big upgrade on Harry Douglas in three-receiver sets alongside Dorial Green-Beckham and Kendall Wright. With Matthews, DeMarco Murray, and C Ben Jones added so far, the Titans' offense has a chance to take a big step forward in Marcus Mariota's second year. http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football?ls=roto:nfl:gnav

Makes me wonder if this is shaping up to be a defense heavy draft. Might be the right play considering offense in this draft looks weak and defense looks pretty good. And I know some feel the offense needs more veterans while the defense needs more youth. JRob must have read my posts. I'd been saying they need to get FA vets for the offense and draft defense heavily.

SuperFreak90
Draft is loaded with soon to be great defensive players, especially Dlinemen.
Titans279
He's a good add for Marcus since he's used to catching passes from noodle armed Tannehill! Sorry, sometimes I just miss BK.
Starkiller
DGB, Matthews, and Wright along with Walker at TE and Murray in the backfield should be quite an array of weapons for Mariota. And if they can keep building the OLine to protect him consistently, we are certainly moving in the right direction.
Stranger
Considering the reports that the Pats were really gunning for this guy makes me feel even better that he signed with the Titans.

This signing probably eliminates the talk of a WR early (ie: round 2) like a Will Fuller, Boyd, etc. I still think they could and probably should add another WR in the draft somewhere, probably day 3. If a guy like Sterling Shepard slipped into round 3, I'd be tempted. Otherwise, I don't see an early pick on a WR happening

We probably overpaid to an extent. Had to if we were going to beat the Pats offer. Hope its not too severe

Starkiller
I wouldn't be against adding another day 2 WR, even if we now have a clear top 3 WR. It isn't a necessity, but if they find one they love then it's still good to have WR depth.
Nash
This may also sets up a trade back from #33… we still need a RT, safety, a better ILB, and NT, just to have NFL caliber starters at every position..haven't been able to say that in a long time.. Cyrus
Thought he was the best option after Travis Benjamin. Good get. At times he was the most productive WR for the Dolphins.
