Just sayin'. It will be an interesting race over the next couple of years to see which one of them becomes the first NBA player with 3000 made threes. Even if Harden drills 3s like crazy and Curry doesn’t play this season, they’ll only be about tied going into next season. At which point, Curry will make it first IMO. Their ending spot on the all time list will be irrelevant in the greatest shooter of all time discussion. Only a fool like @Oiler FANatic would try to argue Harden over Curry. As far as who will be the first player to reach 3000 made threes, Curry has a slight edge right now (199) which will be even lower after the next 8 games. Steph needs 505 to get there, while Harden currently needs 704. Curry is averaging 261 made threes over the past 5 seasons, Harden is averaging 282. That number will increase slightly, probably close to 285. And the fact that Curry turns 33 next season and has trouble staying healthy only hurts his case. Golden St. will use load management on their aging star, I guarantee it. He's still owed $89M over the next 2 seasons, they need to protect their investment. Curry will play even fewer games than Kawhi, so you can expect him to see the court around 50-60 games assuming he can even stay healthy for that many. With all the load management Curry will be dealing with means it will be that much harder for him to make 505 threes over the next two seasons. On the other hand, Harden has made 732 threes over the past two seasons (plus whatever he makes in the next 8 games after play resumes on 7/30). So that number may reach 750 a month from now so it's extremely likely that Harden will reach 3000 well before the end of the 2021-2022 season. I do like the shoutout to the Admiral though. Curry is 6’3 averaging 31.9 points a game. The guy is an absolute monster. He’s way more talented than LeBron. I could see an argument for Shaq in his prime. Also Kobe. It’s all an argument one way or the other, but the fact the 6’3 PG who moonlights as the SG is even in the discussion shows his talent is astronomical. I'm a Spurs fan so it was really fun watching Robinson in the 90s. The best part about Curry, he's doing this in his 30s. Shaq was a MONSTER in his prime (Laker hater here) but Kobe was the closer on the teams. The weird thing is that for the entire career I'd take Kobe, easily. Peak/prime Shaq easily. But Kobe got the most out of his talent and played till the wheels fell off. Shaq became a journeyman at the end of his career and really didn't take care of his body. He has single handily changed the way basketball is played. The list of guys who have done that is pretty small. Warriors haven't been great this year but they are only in the position they are in because of Curry. Its crazy he isn't a legit MVP candidate. When both of their careers are over a few years from now, Curry won't even be among the top 10 players of all-time. He might be in the top 20.
