Magic. Jordan. Dirk. LeBron. I like Curry. He is the all time greatest shooter in the history of basketball. He has absolutely impacted the game and will go down as a game changer. But it's laughable to act like Curry has had some kind of seismic shift that eclipses the fraternity of players he is a part of. Right now Curry is far away the most popular player in the game. He is representative of a move the NBA was always going to make because of analytics, and he is undeniably the best shooter the planet has ever seen. All of this is true and the guy deserves credit for it. He is currently having a legacy making season. He's won championships on all time great teams but has not been even remotely as good or consistent as some of these other guys in the NBA finals. Edit: For context, a shot was taken about LeBron not being the best player of his generation above (which is a joke). Curry was never judged to be the best player on any team he won the finals with. I don't have to argue with a homer who thinks that Steph Curry invented the 3 point shot and doesn't know how Wilt changed the game--it's foundational information. The NBA.com puff piece you found from a basic google search is making the same argument that I am. In many ways even this article kind of makes a counter point to Steph's impact--this was happening regardless, he is simply the best at it--I contend the point that he's the greatest shooter of all time.
